I wanted to use the fitness suite/gym here but was told the bottom of my shoes were too dirty and would clog up the machines. I said all I wanted to do was weights and I wouldn't be using the cardio equipment but I was then told that others in the gym might see my 'dirty' shoes. I even offered to clean them further but was still told no because I had been seen to wear them into the building (i.e. they had been used outside at least once). The photos attached were the state of my trainers at the time. For such a ridiculous reason to not let a paying customer use their facilities, I can't help but think there must be an underlying reason why I was refused access. I ponder the possible discriminatory motives... Socio-economic? Foreigner from Ireland/England?

This was an amazing pool. I like to go to swimming pools after a camping trip to get clean again and have a different kind of exercise.NOTE: IF YOU DO THIS, ABSOLUTELY MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SHOWER AND SHAMPOO YOUR HAIR BEFORE YOU GET INTO THE SWIMMING POOL. Anyway, I loved the facilities! They opened at 7 AM (Google maps said 8:30 so I hope they correct this), so by being early, I had a lane to myself. The hot tub was a nice finish to my swim. I noticed that the deck and walls are enlivened by wilderness decor, including mountains, spruce trees, and even a bald eagle. The staff seemed competent and attentive.

We walked down to the Columbia River during our stay at Revelstoke in August 2019. The Revelstoke Recreation Parks were located close to the Fire Service Station and Museum on the banks of the Columbia River, on the Centennial Park Drive. It was early in the morning so the playing fields were quite empty. They looked pretty nice and huge with a lot of green grass.

It’s a nice facility with a great pool area. The lifeguard staff are all very friendly and helpful. The workout area is pretty minimal but I get it, they don’t want to be in competition with the local gym.

I’ve been coming early morning and again in the evening for a week now. The front desk staff are unfortunately not always the most pleasant, especially evenings.

You have to buy a token for the lockers. Not great, most rec centers offer loonie (returned) lockers or bring your own padlock. You see the problem with the Revy approach is that if you workout and then want to hot tub or swim after, your locker is now unlocked and unless you go back to the front desk and buy another token, your stuff is open for theft. After 4:00 pm, you DO NOT want to leave your gear unlocked.

Just having a shower I had to watch my now unlocked locker as I witnessed people going through unlocked lockers. The sign outside the locker room says to not wear footwear inside; cool, that’s logical. The sign beside it says to be safe take your shoes and lock them up. Yup, if you don’t want your shoes stolen, take them with you.

When the front desk was asked about the pointless locker token issue it was recommended I take my gym bag with me. When I mentioned the sketchy behavior in the locker room, she confessed a guy had his jacket stolen moments prior. 🤷🏼‍♂️ whatever eh🙄.

Ants in the shower. Ants where you put your shoes on.

So enjoy the really nice facility but don’t leave anything unattended it’s not the type of facility where...

Feb 2024- The pools are great, the kids love the big slide, rock climbing wall & diving board.

However…… they posted new rules that a parent must be within arms reach of 7YRS and younger! The staff enforces this, and are not kind about it.

We (3 adults) took 4 kids (five and under) for a morning of fun, and lost count on how many times we were ‘talked to’. The most upsetting was when my 5 year old son (who was wearing a lifejacket and being watched by me) walked 20 feet from the hottub to the pool and got in where I was, then had a lady lifeguard right there asking “that’s not your son is it?! Is he with you?!” and proceeding to tell me “he’s not in arms reach” and “you need to watch him”.

I take my 2 kids alone to the beach almost everyday in the summer. Being rudely told to “bring another adult” to a swimming pool that has lifeguards, lifejackets and a mom not taking her eyes off on her two boys is unprofessional, upsetting...

The lady at the front desk was very kind. We had to wait five minutes to even pay to get into the pool due to it being so full. Once some people left, the life guards sent a message it was safe to enter. You have to pay for a locker as they do not have any that you can use your own lock. That being said, it isn't that expensive to swim there. There is a larger pool that is very warm that is more shallow with a lazy river at the end. There is a second pool with lanes. In the second pool, there is a diving board and a climbing wall that are always open. There is a slide. If it is busy, it is rather slow because it is not manned and you aren't even allowed to go up the stairs until someone comes off completely at the bottom. There is two steam rooms. There is both genders change rooms and family rooms. Each family room is separate and that's nice if...
