I have mixed feelings on this one. We showed up as a group of 4, had to wait 10 minutes when we saw a table for 4 inside that was unoccupied. Anyways, once seated and orders placed we waited for an hour to get our food when it didn’t seem that busy. Also one of us ordered a coffee which never came, and 45 minutes after waiting we asked our waiter (an older gentleman) if the coffee was coming as it had been a while and he realized he had forgot to bring it. Once the coffee hit our table it tasted like hot water, the coffee was so weak we were sure they gave us the wrong thing. They gave us a new coffee canister and it repeated to taste like hot water. Probably the weakest coffee any of us have ever had in a restaurant. Anyways the food arrived 60 minutes later total, it was underwhelming by that point. I really enjoyed my mama bear with French toast, bacon, eggs and homemade sausage. However my peers weren’t too happy with their burnt toast and cold hashbrowns.

I think we wouldn’t have minded the wait if we were told up front they were low on staff or whatever it was that made the order take an hour. I’ve been a cook myself for over a decade so I get it, but communication and kindness goes a long way. Which unfortunately our older server didn’t do. However the young ladies working seemed like they were doing their best to keep...

The patio was great, but the service was less than stellar. It took ages to get coffee and water, then to order food, which I chalked up to being busy from the street market crowd. The basic breakfast was bland, and the sausage was equally bland and regrettable. It was unclear if a receipt would be brought out or folks were to come inside, so eventually, I did just that. The group ahead of me was being run through by the older server, and she seemed friendly towards them. When I took my turn up to the counter she was very focused on entering whatever into the register, so I waited and looked around to confirm I was standing in the right spot to pay, but she never looked up and never acknowledged that I was there in the 5 minutes of standing there. She fiddled with other things and then walked away without looking at me. The hostess who sat me, awkwardly witnessed this and offered to ring me through. I'm not sure if that other server was just having a day but it was pretty...

Since there was such great ratings I had no doubt about going to this place. The service was fine, but not kind, and coffee cups and a carafe was thrown onto the table with no explanation. Serve your self I guess? And not to mention the coffee was so bad. Practically just water. Haven’t had coffee like that in a long time. The food came out timely, but we were one of two tables so that’s not saying much. The side of biscuits I ordered were so dry even with the gravy on top, and the bacon in the gravy tasted rotten. I paid $7.50 just for that side I couldn’t even finish. The BIGGEST issue for me was the mold on the top of the ketchup bottle that the owner brought to our table. How long does it take for ketchup to mold like that? I can’t even imagine the state of the back of house if this is what they’re willing to show us in the front. They’re overdue for a health and safety inspection. I don’t...

Excellent breakfast with decent coffee and a shelf of various hot sauces if you feel like spicing your breakfast up. My partner and I stopped here while passing through for breakfast. I ordered the lumberjack with pancakes and my partner ordered the chorizo breakfast bowl. The lumber jack is a hefty breakfast definitely bring your appetite for this one, I especially appreciated the option for pan cakes or French toast, if I'm not mistaken the bacon was locally sourced, as for my partners dish the chorizo breakfast bowl, it was nicely put together and the heat from the sausage worked well with the eggs and melted cheese. I definitely recommend coming here for breakfast, also I enjoyed how the restaurant was decorated with old photos of the area and pictures supplied from local museums, it was a nice touch

Passing through Revelstoke and decided to stop in for a quick bite. As most places were closed to Covid, the Big Bend Cafe was not. First time here and we were pleasantly surprised. The cafe is small but had very good Covid protocols in place. I had the Breakfast sandwich Avocado and Brie on a bagel. It was very tasty, reasonably priced and unexpectedly filling. My friend had the Sandwich version, Avocado, Brie and Tomato on Focaccia with fries. The amount of fries was quite large. Service was attentive with water jugs replenished as needed. Nothing fancy , just great food. Will definitely consider another future visit to try other items on their menu.

This is the breakfast my husband and I have been looking for. I had the Big Bend Hot Cereal with a Fruit Cup. It was hot fresh oatmeal with raisins, pumpkin seeds and coconut. The fruit cup had fresh blueberries and sliced strawberries. My husband had the Basic with ham, sausage and bacon. All the meats appear to be locally sourced and cooked to perfection. The toast was locally sourced from bakery. The potatoes were hand cut cubes with onion. Very good. The decor is antique, old photos of mining, climbing and railway. The music is country folk. I highly recommend this location if you are in revelstoke and looking for breakfast. Well done Big Bend.
