Super bad experience of buying balloons for my daughter’s birthday party on March 3, 2024. I bought balloons, with their service of helium inflation, on Feb. 16, 2024. The clerk asked me to leave my name, phone number and time to pick up balloons on a paper. When I went to pick up the balloons as scheduled at 1pm on March 3, 2024, the staff in the store told me there weren’t any balloons for me as they didn’t have any record of my purchase. Luckily I kept the receipt of all the items I bought in details so that I showed them the receipt. They still didn’t start preparing my balloons but insisted to call the clerk who was on site handling my purchase on Feb. 16, 2024 to check. After they finally reached that clerk, they found a piece of paper with my name, phone number and scheduled time to pick up the balloons written on it on the table, covered by some other papers. However, they still didn’t start to prepare my balloons immediately as the ballon guy was inflating balloons for another customer. They also insisted that they couldn’t help me deliver balloons to our party near Steveston Village as they didn’t have cars even though they made such a big mistake and made me late for the party. I didn’t get my balloons until almost 1:40pm, and I still had to pick up some food before going to the party venue. Originally I had to pick up the balloons at 1pm, food at 1:15pm and start setting up the venue at 1:30pm. Due to their mistake and delay of giving me the balloons as scheduled, I didn’t arrive the party venue and start setting up until 1:55pm. The worst thing is that the store staff didn’t apologize and didn’t feel...
Read moreDollar Smart is a handy little shop that delivers exactly what you’d expect from a well-stocked discount store—and then some. Located conveniently with easy parking nearby, this store is a go-to for anyone looking to grab affordable household essentials, party supplies, basic stationery, seasonal items, or even quick craft materials without breaking the bank.
The store is surprisingly well organized for its size. Aisles are neatly labeled, and it’s relatively easy to navigate even when it's busy. Items are arranged logically—kitchenware in one corner, office supplies in another, and gift wrap and party goods taking up an entire section. It makes browsing simple, and you often find more than what you came in for.
One of the strengths of Dollar Smart is the variety. While not everything is exactly “one dollar,” prices are still quite low and reasonable. The range of products—from batteries and lightbulbs to pet toys and cleaning supplies—is impressive. It’s a good place for last-minute needs or if you're trying to stick to a budget.
Staff are polite and efficient. You won’t get luxury service, but cashiers are helpful and quick to process transactions. Inventory tends to rotate often, so if you see something you like, it’s smart to grab it while you can.
Overall, Dollar Smart is a convenient, clean, and affordable place to pick up everyday items. It’s not fancy, but it does its job well and is a reliable stop when you need something fast and...

They have pretty much everything you need, no joke.
I went in looking for birthday party decor and balloons. I expected a small selection of helium balloons but to my surprise they have SO MUCH STUFF!!! They’ve got a decent section of party decorations from party cutlery to streamers. I was impressed.
They’ve got a good home section: you can find anything from storage boxes to shelf organizers to step stools to rugs!
Their bath section is decent. They’ve got hair clips, nail files, toothbrushes, shower stuff, basically lots!!
Lots of cleaning stuff from spray bottles to a handful of different scrubbies, gloves, mopping stuff, etc.
Need a screwdriver and measuring tape? They’ve got it, along with other small household tools for little jobs. They have work gloves, safety glasses, etc.
Their kitchen section is huge. They really have everything from spices to kitchen organization racks, sandwich bags to dishes and cutlery, knives to chopsticks, thermoses to glasses to foil baking things, just sooooo much stuffff!!!!!
AND THEN THEY HAVE A SNACK SECTION. HOLY COW. Polvoron is a treat I used to only get when my friends would come back from the Philippines. NOW I GET IT AT DOLLAR SMART. Seasoning? They have it. Sauces? They have it. Noodles, chips, Pocky, crackers? They have it.
I know there’s a ton more I’m missing, so you’ll just have to stop in and see for yourself. It really is my favourite...
