A full day pleasure trip that can be repeated as many times to suit your choices and requirements.
Offers an ideal gateway from city’s hectic schedule to unwind and relax by multiple options viz parks, rides, beaches, amusement and recreational activities, food zones, carousel and kids park, green pasture and treks both for walk and rides, bicycle trails, camping and family outings and much more…
As an first timer visit to centre island starts with ferry ride in two options- ferry service from 1) Jack Layton ferry terminal ie fast and economical but a bit packed 2) water taxi service which more of a personalised service but bit costly but offers better ride and view facilities and worth it.
The views enroute island are amazing and some 10 to 15 minutes ride is enjoyable.
Even for rides there are three options ie Centre Island, Hanlan’s Island and Wards Island. Choose your pick. At the moment I can say most visit, as ourselves, centre island and if time permits move to other two islands that are in opposite directions.
Caution is avoid sunny and hot days weather as it tires you out quickly and wouldn’t be enjoyable the entire trip.
With lots of activities, choose your favourite do’es and chill out. Sea beach has separate changing rooms too. Boat 🛶 ride’s available. 🚲 cycle in singles, tandem & quadruple available for stroll through vast arena. Splash pads for kids and carousel with kids amusements and fun park, rides makes kids go crazy. Relax, pitch a ⛺️, enjoy food 🥘 with family and friends as you play games. The island is so vast and has ample space that even on weekends, you enjoy, leave weekdays when you splurge in its openess. Ours was a half day trip so went from central island towards beach and pier side. Other areas are yet to be explored and...
Read moreCentre island is one of the more important parks in Toronto! The reason why it is so important is because of its central position in the city and the fact that it’s a quiet spot away from all the hustle and bustle. You need to buy tickets for the ferry to get to the island and there are generally three points that the ferry can land. One of it is centre island, and the other is handling this point and the other is wards Island. I would highly recommend that you buy tickets on your mobile phone so that you can skip the long queue. You can probably see if you and hours time. We went in the summer but only Centre island and wards Island ferry were open. On the island kids can have a good time at centreville Which has an amusement park full of rides and food. Adults can also rent bikes to ride around the island. I think the park is a good picnic area and also a way to get out of the city. Finally, a good time to go would be in the evening so that you can take a photo of Toronto skyline at Sunset. It is probably the most iconic and beautiful shot of Toronto that...
