A Hidden Gem at Billy Bishop – OBISPO Delivers Above and Beyond.
Who knew airport dining could feel like a little getaway in itself? I had the pleasure of dining at OBISPO while waiting for my flight at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, and it turned out to be a highlight of my day.
I was warmly welcomed and seated by YOTHIKKA, who was not only attentive and friendly but truly elevated the experience with kindness and charm. Her thoughtful service made me feel like more than just a traveler passing through.
I ordered the pollo sandwich with a side of macaroni salad, and it was absolutely delightful. The sandwich was flavorful and perfectly grilled, with just the right balance of seasoning and texture. The macaroni salad was creamy, refreshing, and paired beautifully with the dish. A cup of fresh, rich coffee rounded out the meal — smooth, aromatic, and just the pick-me-up I needed.
OBISPO proves that airport dining doesn’t have to be rushed or uninspired. It’s a little pocket of calm with delicious food and exceptional service. I’ll definitely be returning, whether I’m flying or not. Kudos to the team — and a special shoutout to Yothikka for her...
Read moreLotta 1 star reviews that are expecting this understaffed little airport bar to be an upscale trendy gastropub. -Remember where you are and adjust your expectations. Rude server? Maybe you were rude to them first? Just a thought. Our server started off kinda cold and brief with us but we quickly realized she was a funny and friendly person when she realized we were friendly, she was probably just grumpy from having dealt with rude, impatient customers before us. If you want something fast grab something from a vending machine. If you want a good burger with quality chuck or fancy salad, grab it at a spot downtown before coming to the airport. Should the management find more employees? Definitely. Are they having trouble finding people who will work in a restaurant (with rude customers) like everywhere else? Definitely. That being said, good bloody caesar and good cocktails. I saw some burgers, chicken tenders and potato chips go by, it mostly looked like it was store bought frozen stuff and that's what I expected from an airport pub...
Read moreSkip it if you can. Staff was rude and gives customer no directions RE: having order taken. We had to wait 20 mins for them to take our order, stood in line, sat at a table. We begged three separate staff to take our order and each passed it off to someone else. A blonde lady with glasses working there was especially rude and sarcastic when we visited on Feb 13 around 7pm. While I get the staff was frazzled, a friendly “please be seated and we will be right with you to take your order” could have avoided this. Instead she walked by us 10 times while we stood in line until we finally asked if they were taking orders only to hear a sarcastic response. She rolled her eyes when we asked her again, after being seated for several minutes, if she could come take our order and refused. I had to beg another lady who while busy was finally able to help us out. Better off to avoid the airport overcharge and eat before you get here, or visit Balzacs coffee. Food here is just meh, between the price and the customer service...
