I have been coming here for the last 3 years to purchase their Alphonso Mangos. The quality is great. Every year I call in advance in April/May to ask if I have to place a pre-order or reserve one, and the person on the phone says no need just drop by. When I go in the person at the cashier says it’s better to have a pre-order next time. Conflicting messaging, but I didn’t think anything of it at the time.
Fast forward to present day, I called them on April 11, 2025 to ask if I could place a pre-order. The person on the phone said they will have lots of stock over the weekend (April 12, and April 13), and that I don’t have to place a pre-order.
I drove almost 1 hour to the store and arrived at around 11:30am on Saturday April 12 , 2025. The older gentleman at the cashier greeted me, and I told them that I was here for a box of the Alphonso mango. He stated that they don’t have any in stock, and then stared at me blankly. I told him that I called yesterday and the person on the phone reassured me that they will have stock over the weekend. The gentleman said that he isn’t sure when the mangos will come, he said, “it can come later this afternoon, tomorrow, or even next week, I’m not sure.” Before finishing our conversation, he proceeded to pretend that I was not even there and served another customer. I felt disrespected and decided to not argue and leave the store.
I was beyond frustrated and angry, knowing that I just drove 1 hour to the store, and that I had to drive another 1 hour back home empty handed with no mangoes. I also find it hard to believe that the employee does not know when their stock of mangoes to arrive, I suspect that he was lying to me. Anyhow, with the terrible communication and different answers I get from this store every year, I’m going to take my business to another more reputable business that sells Alphonso mangos to save my gas and time.

Read moreI urge everyone not to buy lentils from this shop. I found this bugs in my lentil as this was my first time buying from this store I did not bother to check it. When I opened ans washed the lentils the bugs started coming out and thats when I checked the packaging and saw many more live bugs. I am not sure if its considered or complying with food safety standards or not but there is no warning on the packet saying be aware of live insect in your lentils.
For the store owner, they should definitely change all their lentils because they sell home made packaging products with stapler. Its not sealed. It should be sealed. I have bought similar items from Freshco and other indian grocery stores and never faced this. If you can not remove atleast put a sign and since this bugs are known to be spreading faster in lentils I am pretty sure all items in the store would have this.
Please please please do not sell...
Read moreI phoned in to store employees (in the absence of the courteous owner, with whom I have dealt for more than 4 decades) that the pakoras sold to me this afternoon were very stale, several days old. Instead of a simple acknowledgment followed by an apology with the assurance of making amends — the conciliatory hallmark of sound customer relations — this was met with rude, defensive denial, culminating in their rebuffing the issue; “We’re not a restaurant. We’re not obligated to sell fresh food”!! And they hung up! Sadly a sound, long relationship with Koh-i-Noor Foods, to whom I have introduced several friends, has to be terminated. Selling food of questionable quality, as grave a Health Issue as it is, was overshadowed by the remarkably uncouth treatment that was meted out to a customer of...
