If you are visiting Toronto during the summer, I strongly recommend that you go paddle boarding with Osha osha! I am an marginally fit American visiting from New York City for the Canada Day weekend and I’ve spent two of my five scheduled days there, it’s that good ❤️
I was nervous about SUP when my friend who is a local recommended we paddle on Canada Day. I’ve only done SUP one time before and I couldn’t even stand on the board, but my friend told me Jen and her company Osha osha would change how I feel about it. We did the Humber river tour and it started with an orientation on how to use paddles and boards and once we got into the water, how steer, sit and stand (!) on the board. When I couldn’t stand the last time, this time I felts confident and prepared enough by Osha osha. I padded, staring out towards the horizon, feeling free and strong. I spent most of those first couple of hours sitting, however and that was wonderful too.
It felt so good physically and mentally, that we rented boards the next day and went out during sunset! Gorgeous views and the water was calm!
Not going to lie: a couple of times I started feeling anxious and wanted to turn around because of how far we were going during the tour. I didn’t realize I had it in me to do this 2+ hour tour and Jen’s patience and confidence building support calmed me down and I was able to push myself
Osha osha provided an amazingly fun and safe way to enjoy Toronto’s waterways. The lake was a beautiful, serene, clean and COOL on the 94F/33C degree days. Although I’ve visited before Toronto in the summer before, I’m sorry that I never got to enjoy connecting with the water until now.
Beyond the excellent board and paddle selection, convenient Western beach location to Downtown and calm waters, Jen’s care, consideration and instruction really make Osha osha a great business to support if you want SUP. I...
Read moreLooking for a summer activity to try, I found Oceah Oceah offering lessons for stand-up paddleboard. We (a friend and another family member) had the option of adding on the extra hour and it was such a wonderful experience for us all!
When we arrived, the closest parking lot was already full, but a quick call to the business got us immediate help. They answered right away and kindly suggested alternative parking, which made things stress-free. The location itself is lovely. The beach has soft sand, lots of space, and a welcoming atmosphere with families enjoying BBQs nearby. We didn't get to explore so I'm not sure if there were parks for young kids nearby.
Oceah Oceah was easy to find, with lockers available on site (just be sure to bring your own lock). While the public park washrooms were only partially open, it didn’t take away from the experience.
The equipment was in great condition, and our instructor was both friendly and encouraging. Our group were mostly first-timers, and everyone had positive energy. It made learning fun and relaxing. I highly recommend adding the extra hour after the lesson. It’s allowed us to practice the basics that we just learned and feel more comfortable going at our own pace.
A really nice bonus that we weren't expecting was they took photos of us during the lesson and shared them afterwards, which was such a thoughtful touch!
I would absolutely recommend Oceah Oceah to anyone interested in trying paddleboarding, and I’m already looking forward to coming back to try out kayaking or tandem kayaking if my kids would...
Read moreI was recommended by some girlfriends to use Oceah Oceah for a kayaking outing and had a delightful experience. Unsure if I could visit without a reservation or how busy it might be, I called and spoke with Jennifer, who was incredibly kind and patient with all my questions. She reassured us that we could just come over.
When we arrived, finding the location was a bit tricky, but a quick call to Jennifer again got us perfect directions. On arrival, we were greeted by Christie, who helped us get set up with our kayak. Her assistance was invaluable as it was our first time on the Humber River.
The water was calm, making for a smooth and enjoyable experience. We captured a beautiful sunset and saw a lot within our hour-long booking. Upon returning our kayak, Christie made sure we had a great time, shared some history about the company, and recommended we try a paddling class next time. Her encouragement was heartwarming, and we will definitely be visiting again.
The hospitality, ease of navigation, and overall experience were truly wonderful. Thank you, ladies, for a...
