This place could have been great but there was a couple things off in the room ( Jack the Ripper) that totally threw us off. I’ve done all the trapped escape rooms in the Ajax location and majority of the other competitors and my major gripe was that the room was build around the puzzles, not puzzles being build around the room if that makes sense? There was 2 major problems and one of them you could say is a skill issue which I could see. One being that some of the things in the room simply didn’t work. We got the answer to the puzzle but we would have to PERFECTLY place it or apply A-LOT of pressure even though they said we weren’t supposed to. With things not working that kind of ruined the immersive feel because we didn’t know if the game was broken or we were wrong. The second thing that could be chalked up to skill issue is that some of the puzzles didn’t make any sense. Majority of rooms I’ve done, all puzzles are based on logic if A + b that will = c but for some reason the puzzles in this particular game were “ let’s do what people thing is the answer and totally flip it for the sake of confusion “ . the best way I could describe it was once u got a hint or figured out something it wasn’t a light bulb moment it was “ oh really “. again that could be a skill issue but personally speaking I think it’s lazy for a “hard” room to be hard just because the puzzles are VERY confusing and working off assumptions. Given the place has only been open a couple months lots could improve and things can be tweaked which would make this room a 10/10 but sadly with how many things didn’t work and how confusing and frustrating the puzzles were for the sake of being confusing really ruined...
Read moreThis escape room was extremely disappointing compared to other Trapped locations and other escape room locations we have been to. There were several issues that made this room more frustrating then fun. We were in the ET room, which was very dark. No flashlights or torches were provided, and it wasn't until we left the room that they stated, you could have requested them. I believe for such a dark room, where many puzzles couldn't be seen a flashlight should have been automatically provided. Not being able to see the puzzles caused increased frustration. There were also technical issues with the room. Videos didn’t work, and some doors or mechanisms didn’t respond even when we had the right answers. When we called for hints... we were often kept waiting for a few minutes, which broke the flow of solving puzzles, and had to wait for someone to come in and fix the issues (which truly didn't get fixed, until the very end).
To their credit, the staff gave us an extra 20 minutes and free bottled water, which we appreciated. The female staff members were kind and apologetic. However, one male staff member (possibly the manager) came off as very condescending. The way he spoke to us felt dismissive, like we were being treated as if we didn’t understand basic instructions, even though the issues were clearly technical originally.
Sadly, I wouldn’t return to this location based on how...
Read moreSuper fun escape room! We did the Jack the Ripper one and it was pretty interesting. The challenges were definitely tough but I liked the difficulty of it. The price for them are also pretty good in comparison to other places I’ve been to.
I definitely think that escape room should have a notebook or pen that we can use cause it was hard to try and relay information between the different rooms without yelling or trying to memorize the orders.
We didn’t finish but the staff were super nice. The guy there gave us a walkthrough of how to solve the remaining puzzles and let us solve the rest on our own with his guidance. The very last puzzle mechanic though wasn’t working but it was fine cause we were laughing about it with the worker (it did eventually work).
Overall I definitely will be back to try their other...
