I wish I could give no stars for this place. My friend and I just dined at the Swiss Chalet in Kingston Road and had the worst food experience. We ordered the spring rolls and the quarter chicken and ribs combo. The spring rolls smelt so bad that you could know the chicken was old and rotten. I had a bite of it and couldn’t take the weird taste. I calmed myself down and tried the quarter chicken, which was dry and stringy and seemed microwaved. Again it left a weird aftertaste in my mouth. I tried the fries, they looked soggy and sad. And tasted just as bad. Absolutely no seasoning on it. As for the coleslaw, I didn’t know anyone could screw up coleslaw! The ribs were the only edible part of the entire meal. By this time, my stomach was rumbling and I could sense that I was going to be sick. I ran to the washroom as I had to let the horrid food out. When I got back to the table my friend had already paid the bill but she narrated the strange incident that happened while I was in the washroom. Apparently the lady who served our table wasn’t too happy that we were wasting so much food and insisted on giving us containers to pack it up. When my friend refused it since the food was bad, she said that we probably didn’t like it since we are not Canadian and this wasn’t our comfort food ! Unbelievable!!
So my friend told her that the chicken was pretty old and had gone bad. The lady then kept quiet and walked away, only to return with a box of Lindt chocolates and whispered to my friend to never reveal this incident to anyone !!!! Flabbergasted!! I mean, how can you bribe someone to not talk about your bad food ? The fact that they offered chocolates to cover up the mess itself shows that they are well aware of the quality of your food. It just makes me so upset that they didn’t have the courtesy to check if the food was okay with us , and to ignore our feedback like we don’t know about food ! That was just plain disrespectful and racist !

Read moreService screwed up elements of 4 meals. They only checked on us once. When we wanted something, we'd have to look for our server. There was only a couple other tables here.... then at the end, the server complained about his tip. Like you're lucky you got any tip! My thing is, I've done a job as a server. My motto is sweet service: serve with excellence every time. I never expected a tip. I still work customer service where you don't do tips and I smile at everyone and do my job excellently. I don't get why people can be so rude. Like, when you go to a job, you are told here are your responsibilities and here is what we'll pay you to do it. So doing your job and even doing it well doesn't mean you should earn anything extra. Even when I go above and beyond, I never expect a tip. We tip when there's good service, even if it's not something I would have thought should earn me a tip. My FIL paid the bill and left a tip and you complaining about wanting more means you really shouldn't be in a customer service capacity. Like you're lucky it wasn't demanded back. Do your job better next time and maybe you'll get a better tip. Also, you still have not fixed your accessible washroom stall! You legally need to have that functioning. I'm quite pissed about that experience. And if I were the one paying, I would have had some words to say to...

The lady who was serving us was didn't seem to care about doing her job. Took the orders one of which was a hearthy veggie pot pie. What came was chicken the person was with was veggiterian. The lady said oh they ran out of veggie so they gave you chicken. When in fact she wrote it down wrong.how I know is because after she went into kitchen a while after came back with a veggie pot pie which was rushed because inside of it was cold. She flat out tried blame kitchen staff. On top of that we each had breads with our meal she gave us one butter. When asked for more she got it but kinda just threw it on table. And we wernt done eating as yet and she kept bugging us to pay. I said we almost done we don't wana handle money while eating. She said she needed It to be done. I would never go back to this location ever. And unless you want get sick from half cooked food. And be treated like a bother and then rushed I'd say keep away from this place. Management should...
