I am a huge train geek and stopped by to look at the CN locomotive 1762 in Kensington in the Summer of 2017 during Canada 150. Incredible story how it was moved here too. Maybe a bit of melancholy too? We were enroute to the Potato Museum in O'leary but stopped by to take a few photos of the locomotive..... pouring rain too! I spent my childhood summers on PEI in Fanningbrook near Mount Stewart and appreciate the heritage of the island. Some of best memories of my life. I wonder if the town or community ever considered to get the trains running again? Like a short 6-mile tourist train? Maybe in Kensington or Elmira?Wouldn't that be something! They do it all over the US...North Conway Scenic rail, NH and Essex Steam Train, CT to name a few. People love train rides and the nostalgia is overwhelming. Great little train station in Kensington. The station area is cute, but it makes little-to-no attempt to cater to fans of Anne.
