My husband and I enjoyed 6 nights at the Home Place Inn while exploring the beautiful Prince Edward Island. The location of the B&B is perfect! It is within walking distance to downtown Kensington, and it is less than an hour drive to Charlottetown, Summerside, Ann of Green Gables, and the many beaches, |Home Place Inn offers several rooms. We stayed in the Stella room. The door to our room opened to an entrance hall. To the left was a large bathroom with tub and shower and two cozy bathrobes. To the right was our bedroom with a comfortable queen sized bed, rocking chair, dresser, TV, microwave, and fridge. The room does not have air conditioning, but it did have a tower fan. Our stay was during an unusually hot spell; however, we were very comfortable in our room. |Andrew and Beth are the owners of the B&B. They were very welcoming and accommodating ensuring we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. |Breakfast was included. We could choose between western omelettes, traditional eggs, meats, toast, and potatoes, pancakes, blueberry pancakes, French toast, oatmeal, etc. Since our stay was 6 nights I sampled everything! Beth is a very good cook. So, everything was delicious, but my favorites were the fluffy pancakes loaded with blueberries, the perfectly crisp bacon, and the fried potatoes. I wish I knew the secret seasoning Beth put on her potatoes. They were yummy!!! |This was our first visit to Prince Edward Island and to Home Place Inn, but God willing it will not be our last. We fell in love with the beautiful landscapes and people of PEI. It felt like a second home. Thank you, Andrew and Beth, for a...
Read moreThe inn, itself, is filled with old world charm, a classic Victorian/Edwardian house. The house itself is not 'modern', which is not a bad thing in the slightest! Old wooden floors, an antique stove on the way to breakfast, a beautiful old trunk and lovely floral wallpaper, make it lovely. We stayed at the Inn for four nights, and it was utterly to die for. The hosts, are such wonderful people, kind, welcoming and open. Both, Greg and Angie, would come into the sitting rooms in the evening to have a chat with us and hear about where we went on the Island and offer suggestions for the following day as we were planning our route. During the evenings we spent two to three hours just chatting with them. Angie is such a wonderful cook, portions are great if you're planning to do any exploring. We used the inn as our base for exploring the Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown is only a 45 minute drive with only one turn off of Victoria ST E to get on the road directly there. Anything related to Green Gables, Davley by the Sea(the site that inspired White Sands), and other heritage places are only 45 minutes away again in a slightly different direction. The Eastern part of the Island is a bit further away, as it's past Charlottetown, but the North Cape, is quite close by! Summerside is a ten minute drive. Nevertheless to say that we loved it there, and were disheartened to leave for the remainder of our holiday. Angie and Greg,...
