My fav ride of all time in the park is Oblivion. Well I mean that on a less busy or day when I ha e Platinum Fast track. To be honest if the queue is over an hour long I feel its not worth such a long wait. Dont get me wrong for your first ever ride it is worth the wait. I first went on this in 1998 if memory serves me well. Back when they had well known fast food restaurants in the park. My first ride was after an annoying 3 hour queue. Although the wait was annoying it was a unique and enjoyable ride. It is a shame that comaints from local residents of Alton, got the speaker at the top removed. The speaker belted out the Audio "Dont Look Down!". Tjis was a cool feature and is sadly missed by many people. This ride is soo cool to ride in the dark during Scarefest. Seeing the mist surrounding the gaping hole you go into and not being able to see hardly anything is soo fun. There is also some great views of the castle and other amazing features of the surround areas. Remember...
Read moreDon't.... Look.... Down.... Oblivion was the world's first vertical drop roller coaster when it opened in 1998 and was something no-one had ever seen before. The slow, loud lifthill increases suspension for the drop, making you more scared and, for me, regretting my life decisions. You instantly brace yourself for what is to come, and BAM.. you are going down at an 87.5° angle, freefalling, but before you know it, your in the dark and dirty tunnel, and turning back into the station.. Oblivion is a piece of history to coaster enthusiasts, and it's a shame the area around it is very dirty and sort of ruins the experience slightly. Very smooth though, not a...
Read moreWhat an awesome experience. We travelled up from Dorset for a short break and my daughters best friend was petrified about going on oblivion. One of the ride attendants, Danny noticed that she was hesitant and tried his hardest to reassure her. He went out of his way to calm her down and it took more than one attempt, but he was patient and empathetic. On the second day, he finally managed to coax her on and she loved it, so much she went straight back on. We were in risk of her not enjoying her time here, as she felt guilty for holding us back, but due to the perseverance, patience and calming nature of Danny, we had a great time. This was something I've never experienced at a theme park and this bloke should be head of customer relations. Fair play Danny, you're a...
