This review is regarding the PARKADE only, not a reflection of the mall itself or the stores within. You MUST validate your parking at Sungiven Foods for 2-hour free parking, all other stores only validate for 1.5 hours – and I learned this the hard way.

It was my first time driving to City Square, and I saw the sign in the parkade that read “Enjoy 2 hours free parking with purchase”. I went to Dollarama first, and had my ticket validated there. I shopped around, and Sungiven Foods was one of my last stops before returning to my car.

As I was driving out of the parkade, I was surprised that there was an overdue balance of $4.25 at the gate, even though I was in City Square for less than 2 hours (I had a timer on my phone). I called parking assistance and they sent Chandani to deal with the issue. She did not want to listen to my situation and was very rude and unhelpful. She kept insisting I pay for the ticket or go back upstairs to revalidate, and then walked away. I understand she may not have any authority to authorize anything or override the ticket, but she did not bother to listen or try to get help.

I checked my timer, and saw that I was cutting it very close to 2 hours, so if I had re-parked my car and went back upstairs to revalidate, I would definitely go over the 2-hour limit. I paid the ticket and checked the website when I got home, and I understand that the City Square regulations states:

-90 minutes FREE parking with a minimum $5.00 purchase from City Square retailers. -One retailer stamp per parking ticket allowed. Please bring your parking ticket along with you to the retailer for validation.

I am upset because there was no indication (either on the website on signage posted in the mall or parkade) that the retailer stamp HAD to be from Sungiven Foods specifically (and be validated there first) in order to qualify for 2-hour free parking (instead of 90 min). Chandani also gave me the wrong information, and I would not have been able to re-validate at Sungiven foods anyways if I went back upstairs, as only one retailer stamp per parking ticket is allowed (as per the website).

I did email the admin at City Square as well with my concerns over the signage, and asked for a possible refund. Chasity from Reception & Administration directed me to Precise Parklink in regards to the ticket refund. I didn’t bother contacting Precise Parklink because on paper, I did exceed the 1.5 hour parking limit, but the reason for this is because of the misleading and unclear signage...

Mall manager is extremely rude and yells when you ask genuine questions. Parkin a moterbike there is ridiculous. You have to get a ticket to enter, but you're not allowed to park inside so you try and leave right away but are forced to pay to leave. Moterbike parking is 3 feet outside exit gate but in order to get there safely you have to enter, pay to exit then they want you to pay again. Or..you can cross a double solid ride into oncoming traffic on a blind hairpin downhill turn and parking in the moterbike parking without going through the gates..but that insanely dangerous AND you have no ticket for the business to validate so you are FORCED to pay for parking twice if you do it safely once if you risk death. The parking lot attendant could not explain how it was supposed to work..mall admin can not and this person who forst said his name was Raymond...passed the buck to the parking company. The parking company said call city sqaure ...then when I tell Raymond that someone could hurt and the media could get involved suffendly his name is now John and he doesn't care ...he actually yelled at me...this guy is unhinged and I genuinely belive this is some sort of scam to make moterbikes pay twice. I can order online and get stuff shipped..but I shouldn't have to. I should be able to park my moterbike with all the cars..not pay twice.. do my shopping enjoy a bubble tea and have my parking validated like the cars can. This is a prejudiced policy..what happens if you park next to cars? They threatened to tow and issue parking tickets..don5 sure runs this property but that unhinged person needs counseling services...

By far the worst experience ever. I never write reviews but I’m thoroughly upset. I go to school at this mall so I often park my car here for 8 hours and today when I was paying for my ticket which was $21. I put in a $20 and then I tried to put in coins after and the kiosk froze. I had $0.55 left to pay and the kiosk wouldn’t allow me to pay at all so I clicked on the button to ask for assistance. The lady on the speaker asked if my ticket was inside the kiosk and I told her it was and it froze when I only had $0.55 left to pay. She told me to cancel the transaction but the kiosk was frozen so it wouldn’t even allow me to do so. Then she told me to drive my car to an exit and they will help me there. So I drove to an exit and I explained what happened to the parking attendant and she claims that none of the staff members talked to me on the ticket kiosk. She said all the kiosk were perfect and would never freeze. Well, it did for me and what’s worst is that she told me I had to pay $30 because I “lost my ticket” but I told her I already paid $20.45 but the kiosk froze and wouldn’t allow me to pay the rest and YOUR staff told me to come here. Overall, I paid $50 for this ridiculous parking lot and I always come here because I go to Blanche Macdonald. I would like to get my $30 back. I’ve never been more angry and upset especially since I park my car here 3 times a week. Please teach your staff on how to care for...

Came to shop at 8pm at Sungiven on a Sunday, while the wife and the 3 year-old shopped, the 10 year-old and I sat at the food court to study and wait. A security guard tried to kick us out of the food court saying it is closed (picture attached as she refused to give us a name). She refused to show us why we cannot sit at the food court when a stall was still open (you can see a customer sitting in front of the open food stall in the picture). People were walking about around going to the open restaurant, food court stall and fitness centre. We wanted to complain about the arbitrary policy but the security guard said we just have to do what she says, she refused to connect us with management so we could complain: instead, she called 911. We were leaving and she started to taunt us to stay until the cops came "why are you running away scared?". This is as we were trying to bundle up the two kids to head home. Shame on you City Square ! Never coming back :)

We came to the city square food court around 7 pm on Monday, admittedly the food square are closing as the staff is cleaning. However, there are two stores still open, my 5 years old daughter was starving, so we bought some noodle from one of the still opening stores, thinking that since the store was still selling stuff, we could sit down and eat. But then a security guy came up and told us not to sit in the food court as they are closed. I asked for a favor to let us stay so my daughter could finish her noodle, and we would clean up afterwards but he firmly refused. My husband was mad and the security guy was even more mean. So we had to leave with soup noodle in hand and a panicked 5 year old to find some other places to eat. He had absolutely no compassion at all, and yelled at my family. Sent in a photo of this guy. Please train your staff city quare to have more respect to the customers.

$20 for 4 slices of pizza is crazy. The pizza itself is fluffy, but lacks flavour. I love pizza, but this was a huge L for my wallet, and my taste buds. I understand inflation, but when you put on $3 worth of pepperoni, and $1 worth of cheese I’m gonna be upset. The sauce was flavourless, and so was the dough this was a very tasteless pie. Don’t waste your money there are better places where you can get authentic Detroit style pizza not only will you get your moneys worth, but your taste buds will thank you too.
