Independent Goldsmith was the very first store I visited when my partner and I began our journey to designing and purchasing an engagement ring — and as it turns out, it was the only one we needed. After a disappointing experience at Spence Diamonds and a few underwhelming visits to other jewelers, I came running back to Independent Goldsmith — and I’m so glad I did.

Linda is an absolute gem. She spent countless hours with me going through dozens of inspiration photos, truly listening to understand what I envisioned. She walked me through each step, offered thoughtful suggestions without ever being pushy, and made what could have been an overwhelming decision feel so effortless and exciting. Her passion for her work shines through in everything she does. She was as invested in getting this ring just right as I was, and it shows.

After about 2 months of designing, the ring was ready – just in time for our vacation to Hawaii (which she was kind enough to rush!) where my now-fiancé proposed. The ring is more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. Every detail is flawless, and there isn’t a single thing I would change. Linda’s dad (the goldsmith behind the magic) and their designer did an amazing job bringing it to life. Also, a special shout-out to Linda’s mom, as well as Olga & Tita Marilyn, who made me laugh and helped me make some very important design decisions along the way!

I’ve received so many compliments on my ring and every time someone asks about it, I am so happy to tell them it came from Independent Goldsmith. I genuinely have been telling every single person I know who’s planning on purchasing an engagement ring soon to go there! I was looking for an engagement ring and I was referred to Tony and Independent Goldsmith. From the first visit, Tony was accommodating and assuring. He didn't push, but instead made sure he understood what I was looking for. All I had was a photo reference of the diamond, band, and style. Tony said he'd match the price of the diamond from my reference and that he'd be able to custom make exactly what I was looking for. I had about 3 weeks from when I planned to propose and when I asked Tony how long it'd take to get done, he said 4-6 weeks. He read my face 😅 and asked when I needed it by. I told him that I had about 3 weeks and he said that it was no problem and he'd have it done by that week. When I went in to pick up the ring, I didn't know what to say. The ring Tony made was better than the photo I showed him 😂 When Tony showed me the ring, he mentioned that when he finished it and showed it to the staff, even they were wow'd by the work Tony did. To top everything off, my fiancée loves the ring!

The whole experience from my initial visit, to checking out the diamond when it arrived, to picking up the diamond was effortless. Tony and family are kind and accommodating and not pushy. They treated me like a person and not a potential client. Tony's a master at his craft and when I thanked him and showed my appreciation for getting it done when I needed it, he said "it's ok. That's my job." It wasn't his professionalism that struck me at that moment, but that it was sincere and that he genuinely cares for his clients.

WOW! - this word sums up my experience working with Tony and the wonderful ladies at this shop. From the first time I stepped foot in this place , I was treated with respect and all my questions were answered thoroughly and respectfully. I wanted to have an 18k yellow gold ring made with diamonds and Tony was very helpful in working with my ideas and also great at suggesting other ideas like any good jeweler would. As the man designing my item, he had recommendations on what would work best or look better and suit the ideas I wanted to go with. In the end we came up with a beautiful and unique design at a fair price. I had the choice to pay a deposit first and pay later or pay the whole thing up front, which I did. I had already read some reviews so I was confident in m my decision to choose to work with Tony, especially after speaking with him. The whole process was very easy. Once details were finalized, during the process he promptly answered my questions via email or called me to speak (almost immediately , to my surprise). After a week into the process, I was shown a wax mold of my ring-to-be. It looked cool but was difficult to imagine what it would look like but Tony assured me it would look expensive and very high end oncr casted. After a total of 3.5 weeks it was done (was quoted 3-4 weeks). I couldn't be happier. This is a piece I will cherish forever and am soon going to have another made and will go nowhere but here.
