Review from guy eating his way through the Vietnamese restaurants in the Lower Mainland.
This is not my first time at this restaurant. I’ve been coming here for years and probably my most visited Vietnamese establishment. However, this is my first written review of Got Pho and my first visit since ownership change.
Now the reasons I was such a regular at Got Pho was not only the convenience factor in terms of location for me but because the food was so good, so reasonably priced and it was highly regarded by our Vietnamese friends.
I’ve never had a bad experience here and all the food I’ve tried was excellent. However I do gravitate towards two dishes that are my “go-to’s”. I simply love Bun Bo Hue and the one here is my favourite in Vancouver. From the presentation, the broth and the ingredients it is awesome. Now this was before the ownership change so I cannot attest to what it is like (I will provide an update after my next visit). There rice combination plate with lemongrass chicken thigh steak, pork chop and nem (ground pork patty) will satisfy your stomach on a hungry day.
I didn’t know what to expect after the change in ownership but Got Pho looks to be in great hands. The restaurant was bustling when I visited and service was attentive and friendly. I will be back soon.

Read moreI first discovered this place through Uber Eats and have always had great experiences with them! Their packaging is super secure, especially for soups which I really appreciate. I've ordered multiple times, but today was my first time visiting in person to check out the place and service.
Don't expect anything fancy or ultra-modern, it has more of a casual, family-run vibe. That said, the service was great. Our server, a young man, was super helpful, accommodating, and kind he made sure we had everything we needed - Great service!
The food portions are solid and definitely worth the price. I love their Bún bò Huế (BBH), house special, spring rolls, and beef stew (they give you ALOT of meat in this one!).
Overall, I really enjoy this place - Whether it's takeout, delivery or dining in. I'd genuinely recommend giving it a try if you're curious or in the area. I know I’ll be coming back!
The only downside is the parking, it can be a bit tricky. You usually have to drive around the block and hope to get lucky, especially since the area gets busy and the back lot is reserved for the bank and...
Read moreA frustrating experience for solo diners. They only have one table for one person, while all other tables are for four. The solo table is right by the entrance, under a loud buzzing light. Even with my AirPods in, I couldn’t ignore the noise.
I asked to switch, but the server said it was peak time and that if four people came, they would have to wait for me to finish. Yet, I saw a solo diner finishing their meal at a four-person table and plenty of two-person parties seated at larger tables. Meanwhile, the turnover rate was fast, and tables kept opening up while I was there. No group of four ever showed up.
I had a feeling they’d refuse me again if I asked, and honestly, I didn’t want to feel guilty about taking up a four-person table just for eating alone. In the end, I couldn’t stand the noise and took my pho to go. If there were more two-person tables and the light wasn’t an issue, there would be no problem. But why should I be the one who has to leave? Hope they fix the light and rethink both their seating policy and...
