Worst salon I have ever gone to. Danielle Zitron was unprofessional, butchered my hair (both the incredibly uneven bleaching and uneven cut), literally asked DURING my appointment if I wore my hair down often and if it āmatteredā if the bleaching was even underneath. When I contacted the salon a week later for the portfolio photos she had taken they had mysteriously disappeared (luckily I still have my own), etc. The initial job at Union cost me upwards of 400$ (Which is understandable for good stylist work, but in this case any respectable stylist would not have made me pay for the damage to my hair, or even let me walk out of the salon with that hair ājobā). Danielle made no efforts to help me when I reached out to her about being unhappy with it.
When I came in for a comp fix, I had called to explain the situation and rebook, but the staff seemed confused and hesitant to accommodate me what I thought was already settled. It went as far as them asking if I had gone to another stylist after my appointment, or tried to cut it myself in the bathroom. While I was in the salon two separate stylists on the floor made sure I knew that the comp fix job was coming out of the company budget and that they were reallyyy doing me a favour. The comp itself turned out to be a slight trim, and a purple toner that did nothing to the patchy orange bleach job. The uneven bleaching itself was left alone.
This experience was awhile ago, but I have not posted publicly about it until now due to the guilt and shame surrounding it. I just feel that its important to leave this here as a warning. Best of luck going to this salon, but do NOT book with Danielle, and do not come here for any type of fix unless you want to be shamed or gaslit for something a pseudo-professional stylist did...

I am deeply saddened by my experience at Union I asked for a trim and received layers that were choppy, blunt, unblended and frankly the worst haircut Iāve ever had. The stylist was not capable of delivering the value promised via IG and unions website. I left feeling like I could have done a better job myself Chunks of hair completely missed... random short pieces that stick out as if Iām wearing plugs!!! when I requested that the stylist blend my hair she insisted it WAS blended, became passive aggressive, and completely dismissed my concerns.... I felt powerless in the chair and like she was gaslighting me into consenting to something I did not want having endured an uncomfortable hour long cut, with anxiety coursing through me as the hairdresser chopped away carelessly.... I brought my concerns to management and requested reimbursement so I could have whats left of my hair, properly styled, as the trust with union had been broken. I was informed that refunds are against house policy. Meaning that I will have to spend another $100 to fix what I paid Union for, and am at an immeasurable loss for the hair that was cut without my consent.... over 5 inches and the complete removal of my balayage... Plus the time I spent in the chair, enduring this discomfort I wish I had stopped the cut and just walked out..
Communication is evidently an issue, along with inconsistent skill levels, and most importantly, the customer service policies are not in favour of customer experience. I give this experience one star

Ā Ā Ā Read more"Bad Hair Day," Never began to cover the disappointment I felt with a bad color job from my last stylist. I was referred to Andrea Simpson from a co-worker on a production I was working on. I went in ashamed of myself b/c of the way I looked. I had put up with a bad (OMG, it was horrifically awful) hair color - at that point - for 2 weeks - EXACTLY two weeks too long! When I walked into Union Salon and met Andrea, she had the exact color on her hair that I had asked for on mine - Except for some reason my former stylist thought I said, "Please color my hair with Yellow, Orange, White and Red!" - So Andrea had some big color issues to correct and I was just lucky to get her and the amazing man in her salon, who was a Wella Instructor, and who helped to advise her on my color correction - I could not have been happier with the results of their team effort and hugs were given to all as the results of my color correction and cut were exactly 100% + what I asked for. You BET I am going to be a regular customer! - Before I walked into Union Salon and met Andrea and her team, I was ashamed of the way I looked. The minute Andrea took the towel off my hair, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face and had to hold back tears of gratitude and appreciation for her (their) help, compassion and expertise. Absolutely Amazing, and if there were 10 stars - they would have gotten ALL of them from me. I didn't just LOVE it - I was thrilled! I am telling absolutely everyone I know to go see Andrea in Union Salon and let her work her magic on you! Thank you, thank you, thank...
