I ordered $76 worth of food and a tip of 11$— a mix of sushi, rice dishes, and appetizers. At first glance, everything seemed fine, though I felt the portions were small for the price.

As we were finishing the karaage chicken, my husband noticed something unusual in the container — a medium-sized bug. Understandably upset, I called the restaurant to report it and requested a full refund.

I spoke with Jun, the owner, who said he could only refund the karaage, not the entire order. When I asked if he could return the money to my card, he refused and told me I’d have to come in person.

So the next day, I made the trip back, bringing the container with the bug. When I arrived, Jun didn’t greet me or apologize. He simply placed $12 cash on the table without a word. No acknowledgment, no apology, no sense of responsibility.

I expressed my frustration and asked again for a full refund, given the situation and the inconvenience of returning to the restaurant. He declined, saying it “wasn’t fair.” I then said ok I’d like 50$ refunded, this includes the cost of the chicken, my 11$ tip I left and some extra for my inconvenience.

After some back-and-forth, he offered $20, which I reluctantly accepted before leaving.

Between the poor handling of a serious issue, lack of accountability, and complete absence of customer care, I cannot recommend this place. Save your time and your money —...

First time ever writing a review in my whole life because this place genuinely deserves it. My family of five stopped by for lunch while waiting for a flight instead of checking out Granville Island and it was absolutely worth it. Service was quick and attentive, the food came out so quick and was both stunning and delicious (we got the party tray, spicy miso ramen, takoyaki, karaage and galbi).

Coming from Manhattan, the food here (both sushi and hot food) were on par with great quality restaurants there, but for a cheaper price. I would’ve taken a picture but my family ate it so fast, I blinked and the food was gone. There are a few Korean food options (such as the galbi) that I was hesitant about at first, only to find out it was on par if not better than my mother’s cooking (we’re a Korean family lol). I’d highly recommend that people take advantage of their lunch specials because lunch really can’t get any...

I ordered through Ubereats and received my Blue Fin Trio order with blood/water still dripping from the raw fish contaminating the sushi rice. I raised the issue to Ubereats and they are not refunding me because they are saying how the item is prepared is determined by individual merchants. I don't have a photo because I took it through the app and it did not saved into my phone. But it was just gross and inedible.

In response: According to ChatGPT: Even though a bit of red purge can be normal, a visibly wet or “bleeding” presentation isn’t typical of well-handled Bluefin sushi, especially when it’s mixed with rice. ----- It wasn't even just on top of the rice, it was more than a few drops. This is not the first time I've ever ordered sushi delivery, and this is the first time this "bleeding" is so visible and made me so skeptical about how the raw fish...

I had a thanksgiving dinner here and it was truly great. To begin with, the interior is really nicely laid out with cozy atmosphere. Plus, the server was gentle and humorous. I enjoyed his vibe so much. I was having roll craving so i ordered a few rolls, a few pieces of nigiri. Balance , balance , balance! The rolls were amazingly balanced with tastes on point. Nigiri’s were with thick fish cuts, which i liked, and it was well balanced too. In high end sushi places, they dont give you such thick cuts for the balance, but this restaurant handled anyhow! I forgot to take a photo of salmon belly nigiri which was the highlight of the night. This was a thing from different universe. I loved it so much. This place has become my go-to place for sushi. See you again!

Do not be fooled by the 5 star reviews, this place is as average as it gets. The quality of fish is decent, but nothing special. The portions are just ok for the price. The overall flavor however is lackluster. The rice is under seasoned, rolls are underwhelming in their ingredients and overall taste. The service is quite bad. I'm usually not a stickler for service, but with everything else combined, it just delivers a pretty forgettable experience. There are plenty of other forgettable sushi spots in Vancouver, and it fits right in the middle of the pack. Also genuinely curious where all of these 5 star reviews come from, kinda suspect as the restaurant opened recently and a lot of the photos are suspiciously professional. Do with that as you will.
