Vernon Crystal Nails — Attraction in Vernon

Unfortunately what started out as a fun girls day out getting our nails done, turned into a disaster for myself, my friend and our daughters all because of the male owner of the salon. This is a bit of a long story but feel a full picture is necessary. The initial encounter was with him and my friends daughter. There were some communication issues about what she wanted and she was not appreciating the way he was speaking to her so she decided she did not want her nails done. He then proceeded to work on my friends nails. He was clearly annoyed that her daughter walked away from her appointment and seemingly took it out on my friend. He was very aggressive while taking her gel polish off, she had a very injured thumb which she asked him not to touch and he almost used a Dremel on it until his own daughter even yelled “daddy stop, you’re scaring me”. He stopped a couple times to take phone calls, along with the aggressive behaviour, my friend finally said, I think we are done here as I don’t think you are going to have time to finish. He then flipped out and came over to the other side of the salon where me and my daughters were in the middle of getting our nails done yelling stop! He wanted his staff to stop doing our nails because he was so mad at my friend. I kept trying to diffuse the situation because I wasn’t exactly sure what even happened and eventually my friend and her daughter left as he kept yelling at all of us. He then proceeded to confront me about what happened and I kept saying I’m sure it was just a communication issue. Me and my daughters were literally shaking he was being so aggressive. But the staff kept doing our nails. He grabbed his appointment book and was shoving it in my face telling me how the scheduling works. At that point I assertively told him to get his book out of my face as I understand how appointments work. He left the salon. At that point I even started to cry. It was so unnerving the way he treated us. The staff apologized and I even felt bad for them. After we left the salon, I found out exactly how he had treated my friend and to top it all off, my daughter informed me that he actually grabbed her shoulder and pulled her back away from the staff when he first came in yelling at them to stop our services. I had no idea he had physically touched my daughter and that behaviour is unacceptable! Who touches a little girl like that, let alone any customer. This review is just the first step. We will be making further reports about this traumatic experience we all faced. Even though I really like the staff that work there, I will never step foot in there again and I hope word gets out how horrible this man is! I love the set Q gave me this past Monday (June 12th) She did a good job. Unfortunately today one of my nails broke off, and I went to get it fixed,

I don’t know his name but the service & response I received from him was deplorable. I found him rude, unprofessional and hostile.

The photo with rhinestones on the nail is Q’s work. The other is the “fixed” nail.

The ombré is hardly an ombré, the Apex is non existent, the shaping and length doesn’t even match, it’s not even the same colour and there is flooding coming out of both sides.

The proper way to fix a nail is to completely take off. All of the acrylic lay down your nail tip and repeat original process. I also paid $133 for the original set so I assume that the same amount of effort would go into fixing the nail.

Acrylic sets should not break off the first week you get them. Like I said, I really enjoyed Q’s work and all the ladies there, however, due to this experience, I can say that I will not be returning.

It is insanely unprofessional to have YOUR CHILDREN running around the shop, grabbing the acrylic powders and touching the tools when he would get up.
