Oasis station. Cerro San Cristobal Cable Car — Attraction in Providencia

First time here and it was a pretty place. You can buy your tickets directly there or in advance, I was here in January, so almost peek season for vacation in Chile and find absolutely no line or too much people. It was fast and smooth. The space in the cabin is reduced and can only accommodate 6 people and you share with other families, so if you have a carrier for your baby, it should fold or it won't fit in the cabin. My guess is it can't hold a wheelchair either but I'm not really sure. The ride is fast and really pretty, you can see the entire city. And it had 2 stops, you can ride until the first stop which is the station to go to the pool or to the top, to see the view of the city from above and visit the statue of the Virgin Mary....

19-Oct-2025 a parte de ser caro el viaje redondo (7810 adultos y 4450 tercera edad-Para los extranjeros, más caro aún...), hace semanas que tienen el ascensor malo en estación TUPAHUE. No hay rampas, y no se puede acceder a los andenes si no es mediante varias escaleras (equivalentes a 3 pisos).

Dicen que lo echan a perder los que insisten en subir con coches... saben acaso lo que es subir 3 pisos con un coche, la guagua en brazos y los bolsos con calor???... es un mal diseño del ascensor, o un aparato de mala calidad, o falta de mantenimiento.

Más encima, la boletería está en la cafetería, donde hay una fila enorme, y da lo mismo si vas por un ticket, un helado, un almuerzo. Para colmo, los guardias de acceso al andén se creen FBI, con una pésima actitud: prepotentes y se hacen los importantes. Las filas y el mal servicio del teleférico los fines de semana son asegurados.

Caro, malo, impráctico, mal señalizado y largas esperas . Pensándolo bien, por esa plata, uno va y viene en bus flix a viña del Mar o Valparaiso, camina y ve mucho más cosas.

Y a propósito de bus, decidí no regalar mi dinero, y tomé de bajada el mini bus panorámico, que me dejó en pio nono, el que tan sólo costó 800 pesos por ser tarifa de tercera edad. Las anfitrionas y el chofer, encantadores y respetuosos. OTRA COSA!...Espero que la mente codiciosa del parque no le meta las garras...

El parque metropolitano se ve descuidado, no hay vigilancia y los ciclistas se han tomado los caminos. Mucha gente con radios a todo dar.

Such a beautiful place with an amazing view. I highly recommend taking the cable car up and back down. It’s a relaxing ride that I think has the best views. They have nice little gift shops and places you can get snacks. The view from the top is incredible, I would give yourself plenty of time to just sit there and enjoy the view. There are a bunch of stray cats and kittens running around that are all so sweet! I highly recommend coming here, I would go again. It’s a necessity for anyone that...
