……..A real fascinating big well laid-out and immaculate-lii maintained wide open space on the edge of the Mapocho river and almost in the centre of the business district of Santiago de Chile, Entrance is free of charge and you can just wonder in at leisure and enjoy a safe and quiet ”walk in the park”, it’s very clean and there are benches strewn all over at well placed distances so you can walk look at all the fascinated modern sculptures take a break read a book and then continue. Some of the pieces on show are open for you to make up your own mind as to what the artist is trying to convey as someone once said “the artist learns to communicate and the public learns to make a connection” this is so true when you are wondering around here. There are even parakeets frolicking around on the green-lawns and chirping merrily in the trees. There is a nice sized exhibition centre where companies or businesses can display there good in this love-lii natural environment. Very interesting to see when you take time to read the little plaques in the flower-beds you will come to see that many of the plant species and trees are from different counties in the world. If you just want to take a break bring a picnic basket and do what many Chileans do during the day, they come to the park and relax and have a good time. This is a must visit park when in the area its rejuvenating and fun-filled……………

A short walk from major hotels is the sculpture park. It's a dog friendly park, so many dogs or off lead, beware. There's a below ground building that on our visit posted a photographers collection of portraits of old craft makers. Also high in the trees, there are nesting groups of parrots that make weaved nests. No ticket required, some night lighting occurs.

This place is open every day from 8am-6pm It's lovely, it's really a place to be for hours. You can go in with your kids, your pets, bicicles, picnic food and lovers..or just go alone and enjoy the art and poems written all over the place. I've been here a couple of times and would definitely go again

A variety of sculptures decorate the gardens while you walk along the river. Wild animals or fish is no where to be seen, still a great place to make a pause. There's an actual museum which was closed during my Monday visit.
