This is my favorite hotel in Guangzhou — a place I come back to for staycations every year whenever I get the chance. The biggest reason? The location is unbeatable. Step outside and you’re at Zhengjia Plaza, surrounded by tons of convenient local shops and restaurants. Even if you just stay in the hotel, there’s plenty to do — never boring — making it perfect for families with kids.
The lobby is on the 15th floor, and right next to the check-in counter there’s a snack table with free lemon tea and treats, which my child loves. The lobby is also elegantly decorated, giving off a luxurious and grand vibe.
The real highlight though is the outdoor swimming pool just below the 16th-floor gym. It’s well-maintained, pleasantly warm at 25°C, 1.5 meters deep, and open from noon to 9PM — yet never crowded. They even provide floaties and kickboards! The staff is polite and attentive — if you forgot your swim cap, they’ll even lend you one.
Breakfast is top-tier, and a must-try if you stay here. Served from 6:30 to 10:30 on weekdays (till 11:00 on holidays), it includes surprising items like duck breast, miso soup with rice, curry shrimp, walnuts, and more — a delicious and satisfying spread.
We stayed in a one-bedroom family suite, which came with a steam shower, a washer-dryer combo, and even a TV in the bathroom — super high-tech and thoughtful. At night, you’re in the center of Guangzhou CBD, enjoying the stunning light shows from the skyscrapers. It’s truly unforgettable.
Everything in the room was in perfect condition — no signs of aging — and the staff were always patient and polite. No wonder so many international guests stay here. If you’re visiting Guangzhou, this is my No.1...
Read moreOakwood Premier Guangzhou offers a comfortable and well-equipped stay, with excellent facilities that cater especially well to longer stays. The hotel has a service apartment style, which means you get the convenience of home comforts — spacious rooms, kitchenette, laundry facilities, and good amenities like the gym and pool. It’s ideal for business travellers or families looking for flexibility.
That said, while the hardware is impressive, I personally found that the overall experience wasn't as solid or memorable as my stay at the Crowne Plaza Holiday Inn in Huizhou. The service here is good, but it feels slightly less warm and personal compared to the exceptional team at Crowne Plaza Huizhou, who left a much deeper impression with their high emotional intelligence and attention to detail.
In summary:
Facilities: Very good, service apartment style, ideal for longer stays
Service: Professional, but slightly less outstanding than Crowne Plaza Huizhou
Comfort: Spacious, well-equipped rooms
Overall: A comfortable and convenient stay, though it lacks a bit of the...
Read moreStayed here for two nights in early January, and was quite happy with our stay. The property was very luxurious and modern, a proper 5-star. It is a western chain so the front desk staff speaks excellent English and are generally fairly cosmopolitan and sophisticated. (The bellman on the ground floor can use some proper training, but they were friendly and helpful nonetheless.) The location of the hotel was quite convenient, with a few subway stations within walking distance, and many restaurants and shopping options nearby.
Our room (on the 33rd floor ) was spacious and very comfortable. The décor was very modern, luxurious, clean and chic. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was of good size and very well designed, with a laundry machine, steam bath function in the shower room. The kitchen was well equipped with nice equipments/flatwares/utencils. The Wifi in the room worked quite well.
The hotel has a huge, very well equipped gym, and a beautiful covered outdoor pool.
Overall, a great experience, at a very...
