A place very different from the usual idea of Hong Kong. ... quiet and without the bustle of downtown. The Plaza at one end and Market at the other. In between, sea facing pubs and restaurants, plus some shopping. The plaza itself is the main square, with restaurants of its own; plaza regulars such as Watsons wines, Starbucks and MacDonald's, plus home and grocery stores and ATMs. It's the place where residents get together, there's a play area for children as well. Walk away from the Plaza along Stanley Main Street via the promenade passing by a bunch of pubs and restaurants where you'll get everything from sea food to pizza to Italian to pub food. At the end of the stretch you'll reach the Stanley Waterfront where there are some more restaurants offering Chinese food and burgers etc. Walk into the small lane past Paisano pizza and you'll enter Stanley Market full of curios and art pieces to electronics, jewellery and clothes; it's a tourist market so don't feel shy to bargain!

Stanley Plaza is a shopping complex situated at the end of the waterfront in the seaside community of Stanley on the southern shores of Hong Kong Island. It opened in 2001 providing indoor retail shopping and additional coffee shop and restaurant options, some with alfresco seating for local residents and tourists visiting Stanley. There are several floors of lifestyle and other retail shops and some nice elevated deck and floor views of the sea. Shops and restaurants here are a nice complement to what you'll find along the promenade and the nearby street market referred to as the Stanley Market. Other interesting sightseeing in the area include the historic Tin Hau Temple and small Tai Wong Temple which flank the Plaza, the Murray House and Blake Pier.

It's a bit far from the main city but travelling here is worth it. You can reach here by bus and there are buses every 15 minutes or less. The market closes at around 4.30 or 5 (most of the shops) so plan a bit early. You can go here for shopping then followed by sunset view , have lunch or dinner by the beach with a view. The people here are sweet and humble which is not true in temple Street or ladies market. I think it's worth visiting Stanley's market as the prices and quality of goods is decent. On the beach side there are few restaurants , the view is mesmerizing. On the main Street there is a municipal corporation managed restroom and it is clean. I loved the vibes here and would definately love to stay here on my next visit to Hongkong.

This is my favorite go to for just hanging out, groceries and some shopping. It's conveniently located next to Stanley Market so you can do both in one go. The parking lot is easy. between the plaza and the market there are 3 great grocery stores..I shop at all three and also some of the convenient shops that sell imported grocery and domestic items. They have a couple nice cafes and restaurants and between them and the market there are plenty more. There are fashion stores (H&M) and...

The plaza is just alright, I have been visiting this place for the past 12 years and I don’t know if it was because it was Sunday or just simply the vive has been going downhill. Another factor that might have a negative effect might been the fact that I visit to early. The stores were opening some places at the market were still close. I still give it 4 stars just for the fact that it is an obligated site to spot in HK, but if you want the get the most out of it try to visit at sunset and...
