One of the interesting thins to see at Kowloon Park is the small outdoor aviary located in the middle of the park near the Bird Lake and Viewing Cone. The aviary is open from 6.30am to 6.45pm (March to October) and until 5.45pm (November to February).
The aviary is basically a hilltop circular enclosure which you can walk around and view interesting exotic birds. There are 4 or 5 separated areas that include around 20 bird varieties including some beautiful and talkative Macaws, Rhinoceros Hornbills, Palm Cockatoos and other birds of interest.
Note that midday visits during hot days can be a dud if the birds are not active are sticking to the shade and not active. They can be difficult to see through the thick nets as well. Mid morning and visits later in the day can be much better for seeing the birds active and calling.
In the end, this is a ok aviary, worth a quick pass by if you plan to be at Kowloon Park. However, it is not something that will measure up to nicer and larger aviary grounds you may have seen elsewhere. For an impressive Aviary experience, try the Edward Youde Aviary at Hong Kong Park on the island. That is a quality place to visit and...

Don’t waste your time on this poorly thought out...
