I came to Wooloomoloo for the October 1st Fireworks set menu and my review is based on that experience. I had read the reviews before coming and my expectations were good food at a high price with a spectacular view. The view was indeed amazing but the food was really disappointing.

Food: 2 stars Environment/service: 2.5 stars View: 5 stars Value: 1 star Recommendations: none based on the set menu

The set menu consisted of five courses and netted out at 1288 per set. We each had a glass of wine and a bottling of sparkling water and the grand total was over 3000 hkd after service charge.

1️⃣Smoked salmon with crab cake - This was my favorite dish of the evening. The crab cake was the best thing I ate all night. It was crispy and crab inside was delicious. The smoked salmon was paired with caviar and some turnips for crunch. The caviar didn’t add too much but the smoked salmon quality was good.

2️⃣ foie gras- This is a classic dish. I prefer my foie gras warm and this preparation is served at room temp. The foie is paired with balsamic vinegar and a small cracker. I needed more balance with this as the fatty foie was really overpowering.

3️⃣ Cauliflower cappuccino - a cauliflower based soup which looked nice but really had no depth and flavor too it. This is where the meal really started to go downhill.

4️⃣ Wagyu tenderloin- Given Wooloomooloo is a steak house I expected this dish to be great. However, it was just ok. The beef just wasn’t cooked properly. The seer on the steak was not done properly and the meat was under (asked for medium rare). The tomato sauce the steak was paired with was not a good choice. The mushrooms were the best part which is kind of sad.

5️⃣ Lobster and scallop - My wife ordered this dish and it was really bad. The lobster didn’t seem fresh as there was no snap to the meat. The scallops were really small. They were better than the lobster but that is a low bar. The dish also came with a ravioli that was filled with a fish cake. The ravioli was really bad and completely didn’t make any sense. The whole dish conceptually didn’t make any sense and the poor execution made it worse.

6️⃣Trio of creme brûlée - Pretty mediocre dessert. The charred sugar crust is what you hope for in. Cream brûlée and that really wasn’t present.

There was an issue with the service of the meal all night. The dishes came out at sporadic intervals and often we would be waiting a long time between courses. Given the reputation of this restaurant I am hoping this is just...

Located inside The One building at the 21st floor has an amazing view from the window seating. Make sure to make a reservation and request a window table. Family and I entered as walked in so we didn’t get one.

First restaurant in HK that all staff speaks in English and most of them didn’t know either Cantonese nor Mandarin 🤔

Started our night with an Australian Cabernet from Margaret River which is it bold but at the same time had a touch of cocoa & dark fruits.

For appetizers: • Filet Mignon Capaccio was yummy but very bland. • Crab Cake was delicious! Would go back just for it! • Foie Gras was different but unique. Lots of flavor on every bite! • Lobster Bisque & Cream of Forest Mushroom were too notch! Extremely flavorful from beginning to end.

For entrée: • Classic Caesar Salad is always a must for any steak meals • Wooloomooloo Cajun Spicy Ribeye 340g was a hit for my uncle. He enjoyed it to the very best. • Seafood Linguine according to my uncle clam and mussel were frozen and old. Aka not a very good look right there. • Ribeye 3-4 weeks Wet Aged 340g medium with 2 pan fried Hokkaido Scallop which everything was perfectly cooked and their Mushroom Mustard was extremely flavorful.

For Sides: •Creamed Mash which needed a little more Parmesan mixed into it. Very bland • Mac & Cheese was okay nothing out of this world

For Desserts: • Grand Marnier Orange Creme Brûlée was my favorite. You can actually taste the Grand Marnier infused into the custard. Perfect balance • Wooloomooloo Hot Chocolate Cake nothing out of this world. Also it was too sweet for a Dark Chocolate Cake. Not impressed

If your visiting and do not speak Chinese and want one day to feel like you can explain your food to your servers; this will...

Gone for a late dinner , the restaurant was quiet empty , which is ok but the service was so inattentive , we ordered the ravioli, steak and side dishes which came all together , fair enough but they should have asked. We first eat the ravioli and then the steak in the plate already dirty with pasta sauce but no one asked to change plates. The ravioli itself was good but was served with some sort of grilled vegetable and it really didn’t match the dish. Side dishes were ok , but this place is called prime referring to the quality of the meat , what I received though, it’s a simple pan fried bone in sirloin , none of the steak are charcoal cooked , which is a big let down . The wine order was forgotten and only 3 tables were there and two of them already finished Went for a cigarette before having the dessert , we told to go have a cigarette first but the dessert was already on the table with the floor staff making sign the food is there , in every restaurant I have been here is no such a last call for the dessert , but here it was and considering the money they ask I aspected a much better service . Anyway once we had the cheesecake , it was quiet solid and overpowered with berries , anyway the cheesecake was lacking of flavour overall. Good venue interiors but the music it’s the same u will find in any club in lkf , listening to pitbull and David guetta while eating in a “prime” rooftop...

Being Australian, I was keen to find out what Wooloomooloo prime was all about. We celebrated Chinese New year here as a family and came as a party of 7. We went the share plates route and opted for the seafood platter and then ordered a Wagyu Tomahawk ahead of time. We also ordered a couple of sizes, creamed corn, truffle fries, mash potato, salad and a mushroom sauce. Desserts consisted of chocolate lava cake and creme brulee. Must be noted that the restaurant looked after our every request and also catered for the kids really well. Now whilst the steak won't go down as the best steak I've ever had, it is a pretty good, honest steak, utilising great produce and clearly someone who knows their way around a grill in the kitchen. It goes without saying that at level 21, and floor to ceiling windows surrounding, you are bound to have a good view. The dining room could have been a tinier but better lit, but these are all minor complaints for a dinner with family that will be remembered for all the right reasons!
