Hong Kong was a really lovely, interesting and exciting place. The food is amazing and the scenic views from the Peak are spectacular. Surprisingly there are several amazing vegetarian friendly restaurants around so even non-meat eaters can enjoy the tastes of Hong Kong. The night market on Temple Street is a great experience as well. Pros- Great variety of foods and cultural experiences
Lots of English support in restaurants and shops
Very easy to get around
Tourist information is pretty helpful
Cons If you're used to cleaner cities like Osaka or Tokyo...this ain't it chief.
Customer service in the lower end restaurants and stores can take some getting used to. Staff are quite brusque and may seem rude-- I'd put it down to cultural differences though.
Street hawkers and touts around Tsim Sha Tsui can be seriously bothersome. If you can, I'd avoid them. Outside of that, Kowloon, Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok really nice and enjoyable places to walk around.
Pro-tips:
Nathan's Congee and Noodles on Jordan Road are amazing.
Dim Dim Sum also near Jordan Road are really incredible.
For vegetarian food, Kum Tak Lang Vegetarian restaurant at One Peking building are great. Oriental Vegetarian in Hong Kong Island's Wan Chai area are amazing. There are other places that looked great too!.
Definitely try to walk around Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei both in the day and at night. The vibes are totally different!
The Star Ferry tours from the public docks on Hong Kong Island and the Peak tram are definitely...

Now with mire & more ferry traffic resumed, business is gradually picking, but most potential merchants became very gun-shy. Still a lot of empty shops. Food outlets increased gradually but the overall traffic is nothing close to its previous boom. Sino Ptoperty needs to be creative to offer more preferential terms & attractions to lure in more merchants, not...
Read moreIt is the first place I've even been where you need to take the bill to the cashier yourself BUT chargers a 10% service fee. Speaking of service, unlike other alike restaurants in HK, no water was served; waitresses took order with obvious impatience and served the food rudely. And the food! Oh, I will give it slightly better than the service. However, the chef apparently takes anything into Hongkong chow mien style, no matter if it is named spaghetti on the menu.
Will...
