When it comes to experiencing the vibrant energy and breathtaking beauty of Shanghai, there's no better way than embarking on a Huangpu River Night Cruise. This iconic journey offers a front-row seat to the city's dazzling skyline, where the past and present of Shanghai come alive under the glow of neon lights and starlit skies. The Huangpu River, often referred to as the "Mother River of Shanghai," divides the city into two distinct yet harmonious halves: Puxi, the historic western side with its colonial architecture and the famous Bund, and Pudong, the futuristic eastern side boasting soaring skyscrapers like the Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl Tower. As the sun sets and the city lights begin to sparkle, the river becomes a mirror reflecting the soul of Shanghai. The night cruise lasts about an hour, offering ample time to soak in the views and capture unforgettable memories. Modern, well-equipped boats provide both indoor and outdoor seating, ensuring comfort regardless of the weather. As you glide along the river, you'll be treated to panoramic views of: • The Bund: A stunning stretch of historic buildings illuminated in golden hues, showcasing Shanghai's colonial past. • Pudong's Skyline: A futuristic marvel of towering skyscrapers, including the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower and the Shanghai World Financial Center, lit up in a mesmerizing display of colors. • Bridges and Waterfronts: The river is dotted with beautifully lit bridges, such as the Nanpu Bridge and Yangpu Bridge, adding to the visual spectacle.

I had toured the river in big cruise ships three times in past, twice in 1984 & 2006 cruise was during day time & last time along with my wife & son we cruised in 2019 in evening. Scene during evening was wonderful as the tall buildings & towers at eastern Pudong & classical buildings at western The Bund was illuminated beautifully. It was nearly one hour trip & food was available for purchase. I am the witness & really appreciate the rapid development of city & growth of living standard of people. We really enjoyed our cruise & took plenty of good pictures from the deck. A must to do activity while at Shanghai.

Taking the 50-minute Huangpu River cruise is a relaxing way to have panoramic view of Shanghai with the west-meets-east, tradition-hits-modernity feature. Travelers can witness the magic and enjoy “An Exhibition of International Buildings” on its western bank and breathtaking, fabulous skyscrapers of Lujiazui on its eastern bank.
