They are still there (as of today 2024-9-15) Metro #2 Line (Green Line) either East Nanjing station or People's Park Station (Walk 5-6 blocks)... Many small shops. A lot selling components, small hobbyist gadgets and a LOT of commercial gear from overstock or out-of-business industrials. There are many empty storefronts... but Over 50% remain.. maybe more. They are a M-Sat operation and close down around 5 or 5:30. On my second trip, I got there late Saturday (3:30?) the day before Mid-Autumn Festival holiday and they were rolling down the doors and would NOT BE OPEN until the following Wednesday. They do NOT follow MALL hours. There are many other small businesses and a decent one for tools across Beijing E. Road . There are several other business on the map that will help find this place... "Shanghai Technology Jingcheng East building." or "Shanghai Technology Jingcheng [A-G] Zone". Workers are small business owners mostly and look tired and old. They will bargain. Have your Google Translator or other app WELL-understood first. Also get the Ali Pay thing working!. Make SURE you have done whatever is necessary to get your Bankcard (credit card) verified. (It will require a passport entry and a photo of your bank card and CAN take up to two hours.) Get all this stuff DONE before bargaining as it will make your life a lot easier.
