Parque Centenario is a delightful oasis in the heart of Cartagena, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a fun outing. During my visit, I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained the park was, providing a lovely environment to relax and enjoy the scenery. The lush greenery and vibrant flowerbeds create a refreshing backdrop that enhances the overall experience.
One of the standout features of Parque Centenario is the variety of vendors offering an array of items. From delicious local snacks to handmade crafts and souvenirs, there is something for everyone. I enjoyed sampling some street food and found it to be fresh and flavorful, showcasing the local cuisine beautifully. The vendors were friendly and eager to share information about their products, adding a personal touch to the shopping experience.
The park is also a great place to people-watch and soak in the lively atmosphere. Families, couples, and tourists all seemed to be enjoying their time, contributing to a vibrant community feel. With shaded areas to relax and plenty of seating, it's an ideal spot to unwind after exploring the bustling streets of Cartagena.
Overall, Parque Centenario is a must-visit when in Cartagena. Its cleanliness, friendly vendors, and inviting atmosphere make it a perfect place to enjoy the local culture and take a break from the city's hustle and bustle. Read moreThe most terrible place I have stayed at. The hotel does not provide hot water in the shower so your only option will be to shower with COLD!!! water. My shoulder was frozen and I couldn't take a shower the first night. We had to find different hotel and the lady from reception desk (very rude) told us we'll get to pay for only one night (the one we stayed) but guess what?... 3 days later my credit card was charged for one extra night (we didn't use) and the property refused to return the money back.
The rooms are dirty and small. No windows. Very humid. Beds are very uncomfortable. The door locks are a joke. I didn't feel safe at all. Besides, we were on the first floor and it was super noisy from the bars around so we couldn't sleep till 4am.
Do not waste your time and money for this place! Just down the street for the next day we found beautiful place, nice and quiet, hot shower and a breakfast for...
Read moreLet's be honest, this is a grubby little park with sellers and people wanting to sell you something but whatever you do don't miss it. You're never going to see an unassuming park like this in the middle of a city with so many different species of wild animals. From Iguanas to monkeys to squirrels to vultures and there's even a sloth family. Go early in the morning when it not so hot as the animals are harder to find during the middle of the day. Sometimes you'll have a random guy in the park who'll offer to show you where they all are and I suggest you take him up on it. He'll usually know where each bunch of animals are at a given time and all he'll want in return is the loose change you have in your pocket. Trust me, they're there but hard to see sometimes so paying a few undred pesos is well worth it. It's a very busy and open public park so it's safe too if you're...
