We were a little apprehensive on what the tour would be like as never been to Columbia before but as soon as we saw Gustavo we could see what a pleasant young man he was. He gave us a very informative, animated and amusing tour. We also love meeting the story behind the locals we meet . Gustavo had such great interpersonal skills we assumed he was born into a privileged family. Not so. he has obviously worked hard, completing a history degree and wants to have a career in tourism. Heartwarming to see a young man with ambition and his mum and grandmother must be very proud of him. The only tip I would give the company is to tell customers on booking they should only pay $10.00 for a taxi ride from the cruise ship and have the right money as they don’t have change (Gustavo told us after we paid $25.00) and that the square to meet is through the yellow clock tower as when we first arrived it was a bit bewildering as you do get hassled by others in the town and not speaking the language difficult to get directions. We took two tours with this company and they were both incredible. The customer service was excellent, quick response, clear communication and very helpful. The first tour we took was to Basilio de Palenque, the first free town in the Americas,this was the highlight of our visit. One of owners of the company accompanied us, she was amazing. She hired Jamie a local of the town to take us around. We felt very honored to be taken such a tour and we felt like real guest, rather than tourists. The second tour was a bird watching tour in the Mangroves north of the city. It was tour in a dugout canoe with a local fisherman and a young translator who was a college student. She had grown up in the fishing village and we had a wonderful conversation with her as we were poled in the canoe through the mangroves and lagoons. We highly recommend this company with...

Gustavo, our tour guide, on a late January 2025 Old City Walking Tour was simply exceptional. My wife and I agreed what made his tour immensely enjoyable was his combination of enthusiasm, sense of humor, audience engagement, warmth and impressive depth and breadth of history and culture of Cartagena..We found his communication (English on our tour) was superb utilizing eye contact, expressive hand gestures and remained fully open and receptive to guest questions throughout He revealed insights, such as the meaning and symbolism of the old walled city's door knockers which revealed the social standing/profession of the inhabitant(s).
