Mirador Gastro Bar’s food is out of this world. We ordered the “Trilogía de ceviches / Ceviches trilogy” and “Tacos de lomo”. Aside from it being the best ceviche I’ve ever had in my life, everything had so much flavor and was beautifully presented. The drinks are also really pretty and delicious. We ordered some Mojitos, Brambles, and Pisco Sour Clasicos. The cocktails are set beautifully with the backdrop of the walled city of Cartagena. Mirador’s rooftop view overlooks Monumento Torre del Reloj, Cartagena’s emblematic Clock Tower, along with a panorama of the rest of the city and architecture. Mirador Gastro Bar’s level of service is also the best I think I‘ve received at a restaurant authentically. There are Mirador Personnel stationed everywhere throughout the restaurant and rooftop, and we were taken care of by a variety of people, all who seemed to have been in communication with each other. That made a huge impact on the experience. The all around vibe of Mirador Gastro Bar is simply perfect. They play great music, the design details of the establishment are so cute and chic (even down to the design of the bathroom, literally beautiful), everyone is happy, it’s a great place to be. Mirador also has other floors that are equally as charming, providing different aesthetics, and a multi-level establishment. I also enjoyed the first floor where the bartender presented me with a smoked floral cocktail and let me hold the cannonball that was found in the historic building when it was transformed. Mirador has many photo opps including an adorable neon sign in a nook up the stairs that says “All I need is you love tonight”. Mirador Gastro Bar is open for brunch, lunch, dinner, & disco. I highly recommend checking it out during your visit...

Rating: 2.5/5
The Good: Nestled in a prime location, Mirador Gastro Bar offers breathtaking views that are sure to leave you mesmerized. Depending on the night you visit, the ambiance can be just right, meeting the standards one expects. The service, while not exceptional, is decent enough to ensure you're taken care of. Additionally, the food here has garnered praise, promising a satisfying culinary experience.
The Bad: Unfortunately, not all aspects of this Mirador live up to expectations. One glaring issue is the unconventional pricing policy for drinks like GIN & TONIC, where patrons are charged separately for each component. This might catch you off guard and leave a sour taste in your mouth. I cannot imagine ordering a Long Island Ice Tea! Moreover, the music tends to be overly loud, reflecting a typical Colombian style where volume trumps quality, making it difficult to engage in conversations. Another drawback is the demeanor of the door staff, who, perhaps due to dealing with difficult tourists, can come across as unwelcoming and dismissive. Lack of signage indicating the direction to the rooftop adds to the frustration, leaving patrons at the mercy of the doorman's whims.
Conclusion: While this Gastro Bar boasts stunning vistas and satisfactory fare, the overall experience is marred by inconsistencies and a lack of hospitality from the staff. With numerous rooftop options in the vicinity, it's advisable not to confine oneself to this establishment alone. My regrettable encounter with the personnel compels me to seek alternative venues where my patronage is valued and...
Read moreLovely view, great live music, and deliciously refreshing drinks. We had the Mojito Especial and the Ketel Mule - both were very good. Where this place goes wrong is the food and the customer service. We had to wait 15 minutes from the time we got sat until someone finally came to get our drink/appetizer order. Our server was very friendly but he made a mistake with one of our main dishes and put in a much more expensive dish (110k). This is one of the most expensive dishes they have on the menu. My boyfriend agreed to eat it, not knowing how much it was, because the server told us it would take an additional 20 minutes for the correct dish to come out and we were starving. We figured the wrong dish would be within the same price range as the original (79K) because they were both seafood casserole type dishes but when we received our bill, we were surprised by how high it was. I ordered steak cooked medium and was served completely raw inside. I was unable to eat it, had to take it home and cook it on the stove to eat it the next day. We spent 326K on two drinks, and appetizer, and two main dishes. A drink on the house or a free appetizer would have been nice to make up for the issues. The server was very apologetic and offered to remove the tip from our bill. Overall, we probably will not be coming back or recommending this place as it feels like a tourist trap. There are many other decent rooftops...
