This is my second time staying at Hotel Casa Tere, and I will keep coming back. The first time I came with a group of friends and this time I came with my 18 year old son and 11 year old daughter. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were made to feel like we were family coming home. All the staff were super friendly and honest and knowledgeable about the activities available during our stay. I made the mistake of booking one activity without using the concierge service and regretted it a thousand times over. The room was a nice size and everything was very clean. They offer daily room cleaning but you can ask to skip it. Breakfast was extraordinary; my daughter does not eat eggs in the states but couldn’t resist them there each morning along with the traditional arepas. The pool and jacuzzi is on the top floor and the Cartagena sun keeps the pool at a comfortable temperature. The only downside of the pool was that the chlorine holder was broken (assuming by a guest) and some of the tablets were loose on the bottom of the pool. The terrace was a nice place to hang out on our down day and we were able to soak in the sun without the hassle of going to the beach. Location-wise I found the hotel to be perfect- within walking distance of the port for day trips to the islands and to the walled city to explore as well. Getsemani is a vibrant community and the hotel was close enough to the plaza for food and entertainment but also offered seclusion that it wasn’t a nuisance. The decorations are a mix of modern and antique and refurbished items which gives it a lot of character. My daughter fell in love with the variety of art on the wall which highlights the eclectic community in which it’s located. Can’t...
Read moreIf I could go back, I would not have stayed at this hotel. Our check in experience was absolutely horrible, they were doing full blown construction in the lobby/entire downstairs when we arrived so they checked us in in the cafe area. They took pictures of our passports and wanted me to “write” my information down with pen/paper. I booked through AMEX, they should have all that already. And if they were doing construction, they should’ve updated the site to reflect that because I DEFINITELY wouldn’t have booked had I known. But I think they always casually do repairs nonchalantly based on the vibes I was getting. ||They definitely use photos that aren’t of their property because they advertise a hot tub when there isn’t one. The building next door has one, which you can see from this rooftop, but you don’t have access to that. The breakfast wasn’t terrible, I didn’t mind having something small since I planned on eating out all the time. If you use anything from the mini fridge in your room, make sure you pay ahead of your checkout time b/c at checkout they make you wait in the lobby while they go upstairs to check your room to see if you took anything. We were in a rush to get to the airport so this delayed us. The only window our room had was to the hallway which we never used since that’d be awkward to just stare at everyone walking by. But I’m glad the AC worked well cause otherwise being in that tiny room would’ve been miserable. ||I did like the location the hotel is in Getsemani - we were able to pretty much...
Read moreI had an amazing week at Hotel Casa Tere. This hotel exceeded my expectations with its prime location, comfortable rooms, and impeccable service.||The hotel's location is perfect, just minutes away from the walled city, restaurants, plazas, and other attractions. The front desk staff were knowledgeable, efficient, and attentive. There's a 24-hour convenience store nearby, and the hotel provides secure entry along with an outside gate. The concierge was helpful in booking cabs, airport transfers, and excursions for my group of over 10 people. The snorkeling and Tierra Bomba Island experiences they arranged were outstanding, partnering with reputable companies. They also offer currency exchange from USD to COP.||I stayed in a clean and quiet double room on the third floor with one other person. The AC and hot water worked well, and the Wi-Fi was reliable. Hair dryers can be requested from the staff. The bathroom may be a bit small for two people getting ready. The bed and pillows were comfortable and soft. They provide daily room cleaning service and fresh towel replacements.||The breakfast at Hotel Casa Tere was delicious. They offer a variety of options including made-to-order omelets, cinnamon oatmeal, arepas, toast, bread, fruits, and drinks. The fruits were fresh, and their hot chocolate was simply the best. I particularly enjoyed their arepas with anise.||Hotel Casa Tere made me feel right at home, and I'm already looking forward to returning in the...
