If you're looking for a place to party this is it. There's a ton of crazy things that happen here when the sun goes down. There are a lot of pros and cons. If you've been to colombia before you know what this place is about. If you haven't here's the rundown. Be careful and have good time. There are people who want to scam tourists because this is a frequent tourist spot. There are a lot of girls of the night. Dont flash money around. They are not afraid to get in your face and aggressively ask you to go in clubs, restraunts, or taxis. Taxis and uber are very competitive because they compete for business. Didi, uber, and ndrive are the top transportation services. Some taxi drivers try to take advantage of tourists not knowing directions and leave the meter running. I don't think I'll ever get used to the driving. Very stop and go, mountains, hills, tons of motorcycles flying in and out of traffic. I thought Massachusetts had aggressive drivers, but nothing like this. It can be a very safe place as long as you dont do stupid things, walk solo at night waving your phone around, flashing cash, etc... medellin is a better area but there is a lot of trash and the sewage and water systems are not as advanced. If you pay attention and be cautious, you can enjoy one of thenmany clubs or restaurants this place has to offer. GlowVIP, Diamond, Montecarlo, Hookah, are all good clubs. The weekends are popping. Tona of people wandering the streets partying and having a good time. Great night life. Good food and places to eat. Parque Lleras used to be a lively hotspot in El Poblado, but these days, it’s lost much of its charm. While the tree-lined plaza still has a certain appeal during the day, the area has become overrun with aggressive street vendors, overpriced clubs, and a heavy presence of prostitution at night. What was once a fun nightlife district now feels seedy and exploitative.
The biggest frustration? Getting scammed by taxi drivers who see tourists as easy targets. A ride that should cost 10,000 COP suddenly becomes 40,000 COP if they sense you’re not local. Even negotiating doesn’t always help—some drivers refuse to use meters, leaving you feeling ripped off.
There are still a few decent bars and restaurants nearby, but the overall vibe has shifted for the worse. If you visit, go early, stay alert, and always agree on taxi prices beforehand (or use Uber/Cabify). It’s a shame to see a once-vibrant park decline like this—hopefully, Medellín can restore some order and safety here in the future.
Final verdict: Not worth the hassle unless you know exactly where to go (and how to...
Read moreParque Lleras was a nice place to visit. It has a good mix of restaurants and casual spots where you can sit down and enjoy a meal — even if you’re with kids. During the day, it feels calm enough to walk around and explore.
There are plenty of food options, and the area has a lively vibe. One thing to be aware of is the number of locals approaching to sell sunglasses, belts, or offering to sing a song. At first, it might feel like a fun or funny interaction, but it often ends with them expecting a tip for their performance — so just keep that in mind.
As the day turns into night, the atmosphere changes. You’ll see a lot more nightlife — bars, music, and many Latina women walking around. The lower you go down into the area, the more active and party-like it becomes with nightclubs and such.
There’s one street I really liked — the one with a pizzeria called Pizzaiolo. That area felt especially safe and chill. It’s a great spot to just relax and enjoy a good pizza or other food without any hassle.
All in all, Parque Lleras has a lot to offer — just be mindful of your surroundings and know...
