Ene Rooftop — Local services in Medellín

Slow service, bar manager asked us to leave when I asked why. Made us pay for what we had just ordered even though we didn’t have a chance to enjoy it. I’m not an entitled person, been in Medellin for 2 months and staff at many establishments greet me by name when I walk in.

Servicio lento, el gerente del bar nos pidió que nos fuéramos cuando pregunté por qué. Nos hicieron pagar por lo que acabábamos de pedir aunque no tuvimos oportunidad de disfrutarlo. No soy mal cliente. Otros restaurantes donde voy me saludan por nombre cuando llego.

Tldr Was here a few nights ago with a friend. We ordered a round of drinks and were having trouble getting waitstaff to stop so we can order more.

We didn’t stand up and flail our arms or anything but definitely tried to make it clear we wanted to order more. After about 30 minutes we finally got to order.

I went to the front to ask for something. Ran into the bar manager and asked why the service was so bad. Instead of asking any clarifying questions the bar manager who wouldn’t give his name kicked us out, making us pay for what we had just ordered and didn’t get to enjoy.

This has never happened to me. I frequent all type of spots including higher end (slightly pretentious?) venues around the world.

I get along great with staff. I’m not entitled, I just wanted to know why service was so bad.
