Upon checking in, we were greeted by a room with multiple hairs on the floor, near our jacuzzi , including one in our bed. When we made the complaint, we were told that the cleaning person could be there the following day. They also said that we could leave if we weren’t happy, which is obviously not a solution and a complete lack of customer service. The woman who checked us in the first night (Catalina) was not a full-time employee. We were told that she fills in when people are sick. Well, it shows. She couldn’t even tell me the WhatsApp number for the hotel or the Wi-Fi code. We couldn’t sleep at all and the room vibrated since the club in front goes off until 5 AM. We are totally aware of the location near many nightclubs, but we were told that the room would be quieter since there weee double pane windows. We asked to downgrade to a regular room further from the Main Street to try and get a little sleep. (Didn’t help much). The Wi-Fi did not work on the fourth floor until the second day we were there and only because we asked about it to the full time front desk clerk. She quickly and efficiently reset the routers and everything worked. The second day we were there we put the hanger around the door to have a room cleaned and they never came. We were told by the front desk, clerk that it was our fault because we didn’t answer a message. However, a message was never sent to us to via WhatsApp to confirm any room cleaning (they had sent that message to a previous guest!!). Bottom line is, spend a little bit more money for a nicer place with true customer service that appreciates the client when they have legitimate complaints. This place is not worth it, and the breakfast was...
Read moreThe hotel offers great value with a nice breakfast. The food included with your stay was okay but didn’t offer a wide range of choices. However you could order from the menu (additional payment) to widen the options. The rooms (we switched rooms after spending a night in Guatapé) were very spacious and clean. The bathrooms were roomy, instant hot water and the separate toilet was a plus. Good internet connectivity, both rooms had a desk for a quick work email and the wifi was strong enough for a quick Teams call. The bathroom amenities were eco-friendly and of good quality. You could opt out of daily cleaning as well. The location was great for exploring Parque Lleras and vicinity. We ended up walking everyday to restaurant and local businesses. Drugstore, ATM and a wide array of restaurants and bars/clubs within walking distance. We really loved the proximity of the hotel to Juan Valdez (for when you needed a pick me up).
This was our first time staying in the Zona Rosada of El Poblado, and I have to say that after reading the comments I was convinced I made the biggest mistake of my life. Many comments complained about the loud music, we only experienced that once in our 6 nights stay. We didn’t use the earplugs provided at check-in, the sound proofing in the room was exceptionally well, because you could barely hear anything. That one night we could hear the music and feel its vibrations, but managed to sleep through it. We loved that there was always something to do close by, we could walk back to the hotel after a night out.
The staff was very friendly and looked to accommodate any requests we had, helpful in finding local tours to do and finding our way in the...
Read moreI will start with the positive. The staff are mostly very friendly, though little English is spoken, they have a system where they provide the info in English over WhatsApp and is very clear and easy to follow.
The bed is on the firm side, a bit too firm to my liking though you will like it if you enjoy firm. The showerhead is not a great one, it kind of sprays everywhere. No free water in provided in the room, I found this shocking as most hotels especially ones that consider themselves luxury or boutique give complimentary water, especially when the tap water is not drinkable. Here it’s 8,000 COP. The porch was nice, but it faced a very industrial view, of just some rooftops, not inspiring to sit outside or enjoy. Lastly about the room the wifi also was a bit intermittent during my stay. When it worked it was great, but sometimes it just paused.
Ok now about location, you will either love it or absolutely hate this location. You have to understand there are two main areas of Poblado the loud east side and the quieter west side. This is very loud. To be fair, the hotel sends a warning, but I wish their warning would start and say “This hotel is near a disco that plays music till 4am” rather than saying “are you a party animal”? No I am not a party animal, but I failed to read the whole message, as the opened seemed like spam. Note, the music is real and loud. So if you want to sleep at normal night hours and are any little bit sensitive to noise, good luck! There was very loud music till 4am! And not on a weekend, this was...
