Extremely Disappointing Experience with Deceptive Booking Practices

My recent experience at this hotel was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. I made and paid for my reservation through a legitimate online booking website, only to arrive and be told that the hotel no longer honored reservations from this platform. This was despite the booking site still having active access to their reservation system.

The hotel staff informed me they had no record of my reservation, even though I had confirmation and payment receipt. While they did have rooms available, they attempted to charge me 60% more than my original booking price. This felt like a bait-and-switch tactic.

When I tried to resolve the situation, the hotel simply deflected responsibility, telling me I needed to contact the booking website for a refund. They showed no interest in honoring the original rate or helping to resolve the situation they had partly created by not properly disconnecting from the booking platform's reservation system.

Would strongly advise potential guests to book directly with the hotel and get written confirmation of rates and availability before arrival. Better yet, consider staying elsewhere to avoid...

Beware, they may charge you extra!!!

I booked through Airbnb. At check-in they demanded that I sign a long paper in Spanish with many additional rules and financial fines. These rules were not communicated through Airbnb. They would not accept fault and insisted on the rules. The management shows little care about customers and does not work on weekends which is outrageous in the hospitality industry.

I did not agree with the additional rules mainly because they charge 150 000 COP for a guest after 8pm and this prevented us from checking in. It is not true that this is required by law, it is their policy to get more money from their customers. They need to get and ID from each guest and report it to police but this is routine administrative operation and 150k fee which is more than a half of one day room rate does not justify it.
