Parque Bolívar — Attraction in Santa Marta

It’s a shame the governance of the state of Magdalena doesn’t invest more money in the historic center as they have done in Cartagena. It wreaks of urine, also the reason you can’t find a seat on a bench. The bricks were placed over sand so the floor is a disaster. There are no trees to hide from the sun. It’s honestly like being inside of the most filthy pizza oven you can imagine. I have nothing positive to say about the historic center, other than, this is where all the tourists who don’t know anything about Santa Marta...

This is my go to location top all to none for sitting after a days walk visiting cultural things around town i sit here and have lunch then hit the board walk the park is paralel to a walk only road that goes right to parque novios parque bolivar also has like not 100 banks but too many all around it one is 24 hours if you get jittery in the middle of the night and want more beer to keep danceing i also love this park as the cross fit playground is on the board walk right in front. I loved this place, very crowded. Restaurants are very friendly and kids friendly.

It's safe, there are music groups and stage.

I recommend Chiucho's restaurant

Safety recommendation is to stay I side the area of "el parque de los novios ", out side this place could be dangerous
