From the moment I stepped into this culinary haven, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that promised an unforgettable experience.
The service at Guasimo was impeccable, with a warmth and attention to detail that made the evening truly special. A significant part of this exceptional service can be attributed to Roger, whose passion for ensuring guests feel welcomed and valued is palpable. His knowledge of the menu and keen sense of timing in attending to the table made the dining experience seamless and highly enjoyable.
The bartender at Guasimo deserves a special mention for their mixology skills, turning each cocktail into a masterpiece of flavors. Not only were the drinks visually stunning, but they also had a perfect balance of ingredients, showcasing an impressive dedication to the craft. The bar area had a magnetic ambiance, largely due to the skill and charm of the bartender, making it a highlight of the evening.
Adding to the ambiance, the live band at Guasimo created a vibrant backdrop of sound that enhanced the dining experience. Their repertoire, of soft Latin and local rhythms , set a mood that was both energetic and intimately inviting. It's rare to find a live band that can so seamlessly complement the dining experience without overwhelming it, yet at Guasimo, the music was just another layer of perfection.
However, the true star of the evening at Guasimo was, without a doubt, the food. Each dish served was a testament to the chef's prowess and creativity, combining traditional Colombian ingredients with innovative culinary techniques. It’s not an exaggeration to say the food at Guasimo is of Michelin quality. From the appetizers to the main course, each plate was a work of art, both visually and gastronomically. The flavors were complex yet harmonious, capturing the essence of Colombian cuisine while elevating it to extraordinary levels.

Read moreIf you find yourself in Santa Marta, Colombia, and you’re looking for a truly unique dining experience, Guasimo is an absolute must! The food here is outstanding—every dish feels like a masterpiece. The fish is as fresh as it gets, and the chef’s creativity shines through in every bite. We decided to order a variety of dishes to share, which was the best decision. Each plate was an adventure with incredible sauces and flavors that left us wanting more. Honestly, this is the kind of place I could come back to again and again.
The ambiance at Guasimo adds even more to the experience. The art on the walls? Turns out it’s the chef’s work, too! Not only does this chef create amazing dishes, but the paintings add a personal touch that makes the whole space feel special. It’s clear that every detail in this restaurant, from the food to the decor, is crafted with passion and talent. If Guasimo were in Chicago, it would be one of the top spots, hands down!
We celebrated my birthday here, and it was truly one of the best nights I’ve had. The music, the atmosphere, the incredible staff—all of it made for an unforgettable evening. A little tip: take an Uber or a taxi to get here. The streets are narrow, bustling with people, and it’s in a lively area. Trust me, it’s worth the trip.
Kudos to the chef, the staff, and everyone who makes Guasimo such a remarkable place. If you’re in Santa Marta, don’t miss this hidden gem. Five stars...
Read morePretty crappy. This is one of those restaurants that thinks it is reinventing classical dishes. So artsy the inside looks more like an art gallery than a restaurant. So first off the quality of the food is average. To all those saying the taste is 5*, please, go out more, learn to cook, stop eating at Burger King kr other bad fastfood chains. The flavors are either bland or excessive and clash. The products are fresh however, for the price they ask you can find much better around town! Nothing to write home about, but the swordfish did standout somewhat... The portions I ate were laughable. I've had 6 dishes and I'm still not full.. For reference I have a hard time eating 2 big macs. I'm not what one would call a huge eater. The drinks are also rather average. I've tried the corozo and the lulon. Unbalanced and over alcoolized. I'll thank them for not charging the last dishes considering I had to pull out fishbone from my crockets. All in all, I'd avoid this place unless you want to impress your date by spending too much and then ending up at Donde Chucho's when she says she's...
