Donde Chucho Gourmet — Restaurant in Santa Marta

If you want to come waste your time for decent food at best, then do I have a place for you! We arrived around 8pm for dinner in a group of 6 and it was the only time the server was attentive in a timely manner. We waited a good 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive along with an extra 10 minutes for the appetizer before being informed that some of our orders (lobster and certain beers) were not available. After that, all communication broke down and we waited about little over an hour for our server to tell us the food would arrive shortly, another 15 minutes. During that time I ordered a beer that the server had no knowledge of but was on the menu. I received the wrong beer. Once we received our entrees, the accompanying side plates took another 10-15 minutes to arrive. We were never asked about our meal, if we needed anything extra, and had to call out our server 30 minutes after our plates were removed to get the bill. We never received our bill and at around 10:20 we saw our server walking out of her shift with backpack and cell phone in hand. I had to furiously walk in and demand to pay my tab and ask them if this was the regular level of respect they gave to their customers. I declined to pay the service or gratuity fee, and to the concern of at least the last server, he was apologetic about the situation. As someone that has worked in hospitality for over 10 years, I understand that things can go wrong, but such a lack of communication and expectation that the customers will just deal with this when they are paying for a service is disappointing at best and disrespectful at worst. I highly suggest to anyone considering this restaurant to take this into consideration and the managers/owners of the restaurant to seriously look into the lack of customer service and communication along with huge lapses...

If i could give zero stars i would. We were sat at 7 and waited over an hour for our appetizer and our drinks took 30 mins to come out. Then it started raining and the waitress and exclusively the waitresses must be allergic to water cause they let us sit out there till 9 before we had to say something and ask where our food was. We hadnt seen the waitress since she gave us the appetizer. They actually let us sit in the rain under a broken umbrella for almost and hour and a half. They lied about being out of shrimp cause not only did our appetizer have shrimp but i noticed multiple people eating pasta with shrimp which is what i wanted and not what ended up getting cause thats what i was told. I wouldn't trust a word these people tell you if you find urself so unlucky to he eating here. Than they had the nerve to tell us our food has been waiting inside and that they never brought it out or invited us inside to eat like they did for atleast 5-7 groups that had been sat an hour after us. I do not recommend and a lot of the other reviews are clearly fake. There is not a lively environment. And its okay food at best. One of the managers came and apologized but thats it. If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. We waited 3 hours for food they said “was ready” we waited so long it started pouring and instead of moving us inside they kept us outside where it was pouring and seated new guests inside. The wait staff never came by, and instead they argued with us and also lied to us about what was available. On top of all of that, the food was pretty unsatisfying, and the presentation was worse. It was a dish with nothing other than palatones (fried plantains). It was the worst experience my family have had in Colombia. The weird part is, we are also Colombian. You’d think there would be some respect for other Colombians but no, they had none. That’s not even the worst part, the wait time was terrible, their attitude was terrible, the food was terrible, and the overall experience was terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. This is my only review because Ive never felt the need to review something until I’ve received this terrible experience. Also for anyone reading don’t listen to most of the reviews they seem to be mostly bot or AI generated reviews. The experience of the entire resturant at this moment is disgusting.
