Thank you so much Teyuna Tours for such a magical trip!

I had never been anywhere like this before, wasn't quite sure exactly what to expect, and I loved every moment of it. From the guides, to the jungle, to the accommodation, it was all fantastic.

Walking through the jungle, all the guides know each other and you feel like part of one big family. Every was lovely, but our guides were definitely the best! Pedro is a local who has lived in the area for many years and trekked up the mountain over 4000 times, everyone who passed him would say 'legend!' because he is by far one of the most experienced. Stiwen is also a local and an English speaker. He was always on the lookout for wildlife and enjoyed making a few jokes every now and then.

The accommodation and facilities were great. Our chef was Pedro's son, Ricardo, and the food was delicious. The veggie options also went down really well with the group. Our beds were very comfy and each night Pedro and Stiwen would tell us about the history of the area and its people.

The hiking itself was wonderful. I love nature and I love getting away from my phone and just taking in my surroundings. The jungle is beautiful and the mountains were magnificent. There were also lots of stops on the way where we were given some fruit, could get a drink and have a rest. This was very much appreciated and kept us refuelled, ready to power on.

The Lost City itself was a place like no other - absolutely stunning. The view from the 2nd plaza - wow! The restoration work is very impressive and just when you think that's it, there was always more! It was definitely worth the hike - vale la pena!

Part of the tour also involves sitting down and listening to one of the Wiwa tribe tell you about their tribe and their ways - this was a great honour. We have a lot to learn from the Sierra Nevada tribes!

The whole experience was one like no other I will ever experience again, from the hot chocolate, to falling asleep to the sound of the river, to watching local children playing by swinging through the vines.

Pedro y Stiwen - muchísimas gracias a los dos! Son los mejores guías en el mejor lugar en todo el mundo! Espero que estén disfrutando sus vacaciones!

10/10! Amaaaaazing experience. We went on the 4 days/3 nights trek and enjoyed every part of it. Our two guides Nico and John, as well as the chef Sandra were so, so kind, patient, knowledgeable, respectful and professional. On top they were very well connected with local people and staff from other operators. They provided us with so much cultural input. There was no question they left unanswered. The trek itself was not too hard for a fit, hike experienced person. Just the heat and mosquitoes made it sometimes a bit hard. Don’t forget to take one spray of repellent per person :) also take an empty bottle with you to avoid PET plastic bottles waste and the high costs im the communities kiosks as they have to bring the bottles by mules. In our group half of the participants were a lot faster than the other half. John and Nico made it possible that everyone could walk in their preferred speed. One guide went with the fast speed group, one with the slower and everyone felt very comfortable. Veeeery kind attitude with everyone at all times :) John‘s father helped to restore the lost city after parts of it had been destroyed by plunderers. He showed us photographs his father had kept from these times and he was so knowledgeable. Also Nico, he knew so much about the communities culture, their past and his English was impeccable. On top the operator provides 3 full meals, fresh fruit several times a day, sometimes more snacks like chips and cheese and a small dessert every day. I could never finish my plates. It was really enough healthy food to refuel from the hikes. We also had a meeting with an important representer of a local community who explained us how they live and with the shaman of the kogi. I appreciated a lot that Nico and John prepared us well for the meeting, so we knew how to behave in a respectful way and it was also easier to memorize all the new information we learned as we had already some background knowledge. Thank you so much for this lovely experience, sharing this important part of human history and culture with us and for treating the local communities as well as dogs and cats with so much respect. We took this tour in May 2025. The tour was very much like most of the other tours offered but we decided to go with them due to the good reviews. There are some things that I feel I should mention though for people to consider. The food I found to be very rice and potato heavy with little vegetables and protein and the snacks were all sugary (sugary energy bars and biscuits) which, at times, actually drained you of energy! I would bring lots of your own more substantial snacks on this tour, nuts etc. The time between breakfast and lunch was usually over 6 hours!

I also fell ill on the third day (ecoli) and discovered that our guide, although apparently trained in First Aid, did not have, and was not able to, administer any medication, even in an emergency. Luckily for me, there was a medical professional in another group who gave me something to help with it. We also had a disagreement with the company over their insurance policy as two of us had to go to hospital on the day we got back from the tour and the company did not cover the costs, despite us being technically covered for that day. I tried to contact them while in hospital on whatsapp but their office had closed. What they fail to mention is that you need to contact them 'within working hours' in order to be covered - something very important to mention! They showed no concern for us, they were only concerned with the costs that they would incur.

Our guide was good and informative and took some pictures of us at the Lost City but after the tour was over, we requested so many times from the company for the pictures to be sent over. A group chat was made with our guide and still to this day the guide has not responded in it, despite us asking many times to share the images. Such a shame and really disappointing for everyone in our group. The company was no use at helping and eventually stopped communicating.

I don't normally leave reviews but I felt it was important to highlight the above as that's really the difference between the Lost City tour companies - when you're in the rainforest for 4 days, you need to go with a company that you know will...

La excursión al parque de tayrona (cabo san juan) no me gustó. Demasiado caro. Y los guías no explicaban nada. Ni sobre las plantas, ni sobre los animales. Es una caminata super facil, no se necesita un guia para eso. No se puede perder.

Okay so to start it off, I hike a lot in Canada, and found this hike challenging so come prepared!!! The hike is a wet one (humidity) (I brought cotton and it was soaked every day and never fully dried), also chunklas are a must for the camps. The hike was wonderful and beautiful at every turn, I would recommend getting acclimatized to be heat if your from a cold climate cause this baddie was 🥵. Bring bug spray (strong deet) and have some handy in a lil pocket cause the little mosquitos don't play around. Also this trip was one of the best trips of my life I would recommend it anyone who even vaguely enjoys type two fun I'd say it's a must do, everyone was amazing in our group and so happy to help each other:). The best part of the trip though was how wonderful MIGUEL (our guide) was. He was so knowledgeable about everything and was always happy to teach us about the history of the area and the wildlife. He also taught us about the indigenous people in the area currently! With Miguel I never felt scared or unsafe the entire trip thanks to good communication and reassurance that we could do it. Miguel was always willing to make time for us and ontop of that he is a fantastic story teller who took pride and joy in every aspect of his job. Over all this will probably be one of the best experiences of my life. Also there's soo many people doing the hike and they were all hiking at different places so don't worry about being slow and remember to enjoy the nature and the connection you'll make with people along the way. Also I have servers allergies and they were more than happy to accommodate my needs where possible with some notice.
