This is an old church on top of Majan hill in Split. Located very closer to the famous Split View point. There's nothing much to see but if you are visiting the view point, this is few more steps up towards the hill. This is the highest reachable point in the hill and the road ends from there. The church seems not be functioning as it looked like as very old one at the time we...

The Church of St. Nicholas in Split, Croatia:

The Church of St. Nicholas is a medieval gem, dating from the late 11th or early 12th century and is an important part of Croatia's early Romanesque churches. It is among the best preserved medieval churches in Split. It features a Greek cross ground-plan with a rectangular dome supported by columns taken from Diocletian’s palace. This and other similar acts led to serious unfortunate destruction of that magnificent palace. Although usually closed, it opens on St. Nicholas' feast day, December 6. In 1219, it was dedicated to St. Nicholas, the protector of ships and crews, and has been maintained by Benedictine monks and hermits over the centuries.

Quaint, small church located in the Marjian Park, not too far from the Belvedere vista point. The interior is extremely simple as could be surmised from viewing the exterior. There is a water fountain near the church where you can fill your bottle. Decent views of the surrounding area from the plaza in front...
