HAT GAO — Restaurant in Nicosia

We arrived at 1pm we placed our order at that time we waited 45 mins and the food still didn't come out yet. We asked when the food was coming out they hadn't even started making our food at that time. There were lots of delivery drivers hanging around waiting for their food to come out. There were a couple of women waiting for their food before us and they still hadn't had their food yet. They went to ask where their food was and she was told they had to wait another 20 mins! After I asked where our food was half of the starters we ordered eventually came out but it wasn't worth waiting for. When I asked where the other starter was the chicken dumplings she said in a minute. But then we had to wait another 10 mins before they came out! Eventually she brought my food. I ordered chicken fried noodles but she gave me beef noodles!! She got my order completely wrong! I told her she got the order wrong and we were still waiting for my friend's other dish she ordered which was chicken pad Thai and the woman didn't even get started on that dish!! The noodles I ate were not even that nice and definitely not worth waiting for for 45 mins!! I don't know why this place had good reviews as I didn't enjoy my experience here. I would not recommend this...

Lovely and fresh Vietnamese cafe! Can’t stress enough how happy I am to finally get to eat my favorite Viet dishes that have been so missed. Pho is excellent, you haven’t missed a single ingredient, your shrimp baos are the best in town and noodle and rice dishes feature charred vegetables and real wok hay! The staff is kind and respectful. Very authentic. You have transferred me back to Vietnam for an hour :) The only two suggestions will be: A) add some wine and strong spirits (at least vodka) to the beverage menu. It is something that might not be authentic to cafes in Vietnam, but might be a good decision since your restaurant is around Ledras where there are lots of European tourists. They will be more inclined to dine in if you offer some alcoholic variety. B) We could not pay by card. That is pretty bad, since you do offer online delivery. Not everyone carries cash on them and card payments are more preferred nowadays. Getting card terminal sorted ASAP would make things easier...

Edit: My first review is below and it was standing for a while with 5* but… today we ordered home and it was a huge mistake. Food didn’t have authentic taste, nor was it what we were supposed get (ingredients were different than described), so be cautious. I hope they will improve and start serving authentic Vietnamese that Nicosia deserves, as they used to.
