This is a great little hotel in a great location. A short 1-2 minute walk to beautiful Playa Alicia and 3-4 minutes to the bars and restaurants of Sosua. ||||The rooms themselves are a bit on the basic side, but it was very clean and the beds are comfortable. Bring your own shampoo. Tiny soaps are provided, but not washcloths. I was here in August, and the AC struggled a bit to keep the room cool.||||The pool area is beautiful. I loved having a room where I could walk out of my back door right onto the deck of the pool area. ||||The owners/managers of the hotel are fantastic. Great communication before my stay and very responsive to my needs throughout the week. I messed up and took a swim with my cellphone in my pocket. Andrew knows what he is doing, and he took my phone for a day or so, and made it functional. I ended up buying a new one when I got home, but I appreciated his efforts going above and beyond to help me. ||||The restaurant was great and convenient for breakfast. I ate here every morning and I loved the fresh fruit. This puts those chain-hotel breakfasts in the USA to shame.||||Overall a really nice place, and I would love to come back and...
Read moreWe stayed at Alicia Hotel; we were 7 people and reserved 3 bedrooms. In the website it said “Beds: 2 Queen Beds / Max person = 3”. All standard Queen rooms only had 2 full size beds instead two queen size beds. I had to wait over an hour to speak with the person in charge, because front desk clerk/receptionist couldn’t resolved the issue. After one hour waiting for my room the person in charge said “those beds are queen size in this country”. I know that was not true because in the past I had stayed in over 20 hotels in Dom. Rep. In addition, they charged me $10 extra for the 3rd person who was going to sleep in my room. Also, they charged $7.00 for breakfast (for the 3rd person). The two other rooms we reserved the air conditioners were not functioning and the rest of my family had to change rooms in the middle of the night after they had unpacked. None of the 3 bathrooms had soap or any toiletries such as shampoo, hair conditioner, etc. bathroom towels were pretty old...
Read moreMy family and I stayed here for about 3 days. I liked how the pool was in the center of everything and right next to the hotel restaurant. We ate a couple of breakfasts and dinners at the hotel restaurant which were all filling. This place has hot water for showers, was really close (walking distance) to the beach and was close to some really great restaurants and night life. We did stay while they were doing renovations which was a little annoying and the parking situation at that time was limited. One of the servers didn't seem to like her job that much; she wasn't mean, but seemed like she would go out of her way to avoid people at the restaurant. The owners and the staff were nice. We really enjoyed our stay and I would...
