Read more5A by The Waterway Development is a property that is dominated by cafes and restaurants on the ground floor at the time of this writing. The place has been opened for only two weeks (at the time of this review), so most of the shops are still under construction. However, there are quite a few cafes offering outdoor seating within the property that constitutes four building blocks with three long open-air corridors running east to west. At the moment, there are some spectacles shops, one skincare shop, a couple of jewelry stores, a Porsche showroom, and 3M car workshops in the basement.
There is some parking inside the building, which is not enough, so cars line up all around, creating a traffic mess. So far, it is an average place, attracting casual visitors.
The hygiene at this place is really questionable as some of the nouveau riche, show-off crowd brings their dogs along, and their dogs' habit mirror those of their owners. The place has become a dog-fouling paradise. Do look out for dark grey stains all over the grey walls, benches, and corners because that's where everyone's dogs urinate. The irony is that it's clearly written that dogs are not allowed, yet the property doesn't want to take a step ahead to stop those nouveau riche patrons flaunting their dogs, and the dogs flaunting...
Read more5A by the Waterway is one of the best mixed-use developments in Cairo.
Luxury retail outlets, which include but are not limited to EGO (fashion luxury brand outlet), Bulgari, and Zanotti outlets are there.
You should not forget to include the best of the F&B outlets like Carlos, Babel, and many other nice coffee shops that are all over the place. Mohamed El Sagheer's hair care outlet for male and females is there too.
It is clear that this place is targeting the niche A segment is East Cairo, and one should expect a high cost bills to be paid there.
To hang out there, one might think to meet the classy crowd in New Cairo and would avoid the typical crowd in similar retail places.
The retail outlets are located on the ground floors of 4 story building, and the rest 3 floors are occupied with administrative offices for decent companies in Cairo.
The outdoor area with all the sitting area for the retail areas is giving you this nice atmosphere of mixed-use development and creating a great entourage for the office spaces employees.
There is a decent parking area below the mixed-use development, and many people are parking on the streets around the development.
It is always crowded on the street around 5A by Waterway development, but you should get get adopted to this kind of crowd.
I recommend people to...
