I had negative reviews however the fact it took 20mins to come take our drinks order should have been our first warning!! We ordered food and drinks at the same time and waited.... and waited.... and waited... then our children's meals were delivered to another table. We had been waiting over 45mins at this stage and the table that got served had been seated 20mins after we arrived. They bought our pizza to that table and were told that table didn't have a pizza so they bought it to us. At this stage the staff realised what had happened but said nothing. They dropped the pizza walked back inside and started to laugh about the mix up. The "pizza" was terrible!! We ate 1 slice because it was so bad, even as starving as we were at this stage. I went next door to a pizza place and ordered a take away. Walked in and asked how long the kids meals would be as we had received the pizza 15mins ago. They said they didn't know, apologised for the mistake and that was all. The food came out and it was worse than the pizza, and it wasn't even the right order! Too late in the night to care as we had been waiting more than 1.5hrs for the kids meals at this stage. The kids couldn't even eat their food, pasta overcooked and tasted like rubber, cheeseburger on a rock hard bun with no flavour. The staff come to ask if everything is OK and I honestly said no and explained why. I asked for the bill which was $111FJD. The manager hand it to me and points at a massive $16 discount!! WOW!! thank you letting me pay $94 to sit at your table for 1.5hrs while your staff laugh at my hungry family! FYI We are a family of 5 (8yr,5yr,3yr) sat down at 6pm with only 2 other table seated at that time. Got on Bula Bus home at 8:15pm with pizza...
Read moreIt’s been a long time since we’ve been as disappointed by a restaurant as we were at Amalfi. The place initially seemed very promising – a diverse menu, well-designed tables, and a charming, friendly waitress created the impression of a great meal ahead. Unfortunately, the food told a different story.
From the appetizers, the eggplant dish was quite good, but the grilled octopus (or what was supposed to be) bore no resemblance to squid or any kind of seafood. Instead, it felt more like deep-fried crumbs that were almost impossible to chew.
For the main courses, the carbonara pasta arrived cold. The spinach ravioli in tomato sauce, which was promised to have a pinkish hue, was overwhelmed by an acidic tomato flavor that masked everything else.
We ordered two lasagna dishes – only one was brought to the table. It was small, lukewarm, and inexplicably accompanied by a pile of industrial-style French fries, covered in so much salt that they were inedible.
The missing pasta dish arrived 35 minutes later, by which point we had already given up on it.
In summary: Amalfi may look like a great place for a meal, but in reality, it was a major disappointment. We won’t...
Read moreOnce again avoid all port Denaru restaurants. I don’t understand why they don’t have some quality to presentation or decent food or better taste when charging 50$/ ave food. (All halal food in Fiji)
We had their pizza special 15inch chicken supreme with chips and 1.25 coke - 49$. Probably the only good item.
The prawn rice 10 piece for 40$ was absolutely horrible - avoid at all costs.
The chicken Parmesan was also subpar and I shd have never ordered it. The chicken meat felt more like frozen and then microwaved!! 43$ - complete and utter waste.
Mix grill with lobster was good and worth the try at 75$
Apple juice 11$ - basically out of the tetra pack!!!
Go to town and try local food- much cheaper and better from. Quality perspective
The only good thing here was the view Total...
