Food Market Herkku — Local services in Helsinki sub-region

I am very sorry to say it but the service and attitude at Herkku Bistro was a complete disaster. First of all no one among the employees paid any attention to the customers coming to the counter. It was a hard job to get their attention while they were chatting with each other and laughing. It was next to impossible to find a menue, the employees even did not bother to help. Their answer: "There are sheets of paper on the wall" was anot of big use because in order to read the menu you had to come very close to a table where customers were sitting and eating and of course it disturbed them (though these polite people did not say a thing but it is obvious that no one would like it). I tried to check the menu at the cassier but there was only one dirty and crumpled sheet of paper for many customers, so there was no luck. I should say that the managers should do much better job in order to provide a proper service in such a famous place as Stockmann. I used to be a frequent customer in the Bistro but from now on I will not go there and will advise my friends to escape a place where a customer is treated in an unappropriate way. I have a bit mixed feelings as the quality on the attention differs a lot, very inconsistent. At the bakery one young man provided great service in English and the other day a very rude lady did not even want to serve us and kept starring as she was expecting me to pronounce the Finnish names and to order in Finnish, after asking her politely describing what I need she said that she can not hear me and needed to speak very loudly as she did not want to make the effort, she continued making excuses to not serve us, when I asked for the last peace of bum left she continued asking for how many in a very rude way, for the other hand a very senior person with could hear perfectly fine and speak English, another person at the butcher side also demanding Finnish. It seems that some of their personal feel like foreigners are not entitled to be more wealthy than Finnish customers and they to punish them with bad service, some others are great.
