From a culinary point of view this was a harsh disappointment. The first impression of the interior design left a positive foretaste. Thought there was some details that didn't fit in the picture and broke the design concept. Coming with an experience of eating in many Michelin star restaurants around the world this was nothing like a fine dine experience. Except the pricing. That was way over with 15 to 20€ for a starter that had nothing to offer in taste. I had better for half the price. Let me tell you, having the most exclusive and expensive ingredients unfortunately doesn't make a good dinner, if you preparation and execution isn't on point and flavors aren't outstanding. The taste was boring and blend with no attention to detail. There was no surprises to find and you have to deliver that at this price level. The service was ok, but not up to standards in fine dine. There is definitely huge improvement to make from my point of view to justify your pricing...
Read moreFlicking the pages of restaurant menus, I always look for something interesting and unusual. There are few good restaurants in Helsinki which offer lunch and "Brasa" with its menu and location caught my eye straight away. On the menu of the restaurant you can find quite many combinations which might not mean something to you at first sight. Anyway, after you taste them, you will realise that all the ingredients in the dishes match perfectly and accompany each other. I would especially like to highlight "Hamachi" and "Marble Beef". You should definitely try them at "Brasa"! "Hamachi" is a perfectly balanced and really beautifully garnished appetiser consisting of dry-aged yellow tail with umami soy and damsons. "Marble Beef" is the softest meat which melts in your mouth. Having visited this restaurant, you have a pleasant aftertaste for a long time. It is the place you really want to get back! Excellent service and...
Read moreWe had a dinner at Brasa. An advance reservation is a must for this restaurant. We were welcome right after entering. A good selection of drinks to get the evening started. We were explained the restaurant concept which was new to some of the guests. We decided to pick starters, main portions and deserts from the menu. Pre-selected menu with pre-selected wines would have another option. Smoked beetroot with goat cheese was excellent to get dining started. And don’t forget to try their own bread with olives- simply perfect combination. This restaurant is known for its open fire cooking. Our white fish prepared this way was mouth-watering. Baked apple ice cream with almond caramel foam was the way to finish. Staff were clearly motivated and helpful. We really liked relaxed and ambient atmosphere. The location is ideal, right in the heart of the city. It is a quite expensive restaurant but a good place for...
