If you are visiting Helsinki, Finland and love amazing architecture and historical monuments you absolutely must visit St. John's Church! A historical wonder located in the Ullanlinna neighborhood, a true gem that showcases the beauty of the neo-Gothic style. St. John's Lutheran Church, also known as Johanneksenkirkko in Finnish, was designed by the famous Swedish architect Adolf Melander between 1888 and 1891, making it the largest stone church in Finland. You will be fascinated by its 74-meter (243-foot) twin towers. The grandeur of the church is further enhanced by its intricate Gothic Revival details, including pointed arches, ornate carvings and stunning stained...

St. John's Church is my favourite among churches in Helsinki. One doesn't need to be a Christian to be able to appreciate beauty of old church art and architecture. The entrance ticket to the church costs 5 euro which is okay; the money is needed for maintenance and repair costs of this fabulous.

Even though St. John's Church is an Evangelical Lutheran church, its inside decoration is rich; it is, with its details, church art at its best, creating a powerful spiritual atmosphere where dogmatic duality falls apart to non-dual timelessness.

Visit St. John's Church, there is everything which one needs for spiritual awakening. (ref. to...

Kościół św. Jana (fiń. Pyhän Johanneksen kirkko) w Helsinkach to jedna z najważniejszych świątyń protestanckich w mieście, znana z pięknej gotyckiej architektury. Został zbudowany w latach 1891–1892 na wzgórzu, w pobliżu centrum Helsinek, w dzielnicy Kallio. Jest to kościół luteranski, należący do parafii Kościoła św. Jana w Helsinkach.
