Not the most modern decor, but this hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff on the reception desk are friendly and helpful. We chose this hotel because it had small apartments with a separate bedroom for our two teenage daughters. It was much better value for money than having two rooms in any other hotel, or us all being squashed in one room with the girls on pull-out beds. Plus, the apartment had a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave, sink, kettle, crockery and cutlery, which you would not get in a hotel room. The hotel is well-located, there are restaurants, shops and supermarkets very close by, and two tram routes with stops no more than a five minute walk. The food at breakfast was excellent. Not a massive choice, but that was not a problem. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, and everyone definitely needs to visit Helsinki, it’s a...
Read moreTravel for a living and worst experience I've had. My partner is Finnish and after not seeing her for one month I try to pay for her to stay with me in the hotel after she surprised me one evening in the center. Refused by a very rude male receptionist who was questioning the status of our relationship - as if that is even important or any of his business. From a very simple request my partner was very upset. Forced to travel back to partners residence which took two and a half hours (not in Helsinki) and hotel still charged for the night despite complaint. In fact, I didn't even receive an official answer to my grievance. Very unprofessional. Other than that the hotel is dinghy, dank and old. Cleaners are noisy in the morning and wake you up. Location however is good. If you want to stay in a Finnish Faulty Towers - this...
Read moreThe hotel is in a very central but quiet location. The rooms are pretty simple with all the basics you need. The AC in the rooms is missing but this was in the hotel description so we knew it and we did not expect it. The lady at the reception, which I guess is also an owner, was extremely nice and friendly. The breakfast is also very traditional for nordic standards and it's very nice. All in all we really enjoyed our stay, the place has its own style and has its charm: it feels like the real Finland that you would expect after watching a Kaurismäki's movie. The price for our stay was fair enough. If you're looking for a modern and fancy hotel, you might want to consider other...
