I was looking forward to my hotel stay at the Pullman La Défense, having previously stayed in other Pullman hotel properties and enjoying my experience there. My 5-night stay turned out to be a disappointing experience. The review is primarily focused on my room experience as it’s the only hotel service/amenity that I’ve used during my stay. Accor has branded this hotel property as a Pullman and has decided to give it a 5-star rating. Based on my hotel experience, I would have given this hotel a 3-star rating and branded it as a Mercure. I don’t understand how Accor gave this property the same rating as their Sofitel properties in Paris that cost double/triple the price of this hotel which, by the way, is by no means a ‘cheap’ hotel (around 300 USD per night). The hotel is in the business district of Paris, La Défense. During the day, there are lots of office workers in the area. At night, the area is practically deserted and feels seedy / unsafe. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the nearest RER/Metro station. A big shopping mall (Westfield Les 4 Temps) is also about a 10-minute walk. I should mention that to walk to the places mentioned above, you’ll need to either climb several flights of outdoor stairs or hope that the adjacent escalators are working (they were all not working during the weekend). This might pose a problem for people with mobility issues. The room décor was modern and pleasant enough. A nice view of La Défense was seen from the window. The Wi-Fi signal was good, although it was a completely open Wi-Fi network, with no hotel sign-in. As expected, the TV channels were mostly in French, with a few English news channels. The room safe was large enough to store a 15” laptop. The room had two twin sized beds which seemed to be sized for children and not adults. Tall individuals will find these beds to be too small. The dated/tired bathroom was clean and came with a shower and bath. The shower had several maintenance issues. The rain shower head had not been properly cleaned or maintained. Around half of the shower head openings were clogged. The shower wand worked but was damaged. The main issue with the room was the poor ventilation / barely functioning AC. The room windows cannot be opened, and you are completely dependent on the ventilation system. Upon close inspection of the ventilation vents, they were very dirty and are obviously not part of the daily / weekly / monthly housekeeping inspection list. I had the control setting for the ventilation/AC turned to the lowest/coldest setting and there was barely any cool air blowing into the room. This made the room stuffy, warm, and unpleasant. Spending a hot summer day inside of this room would be unbearable to most. I notified the hotel desk about the poor ventilation and was told that a technician will be sent shortly to investigate the issue. The technician never came until the day after, when a follow-up request was made to the hotel manager. Returning to the room the next evening, supposedly after the technician was there, the ventilation issue was not resolved. Again, I went to the front desk and was offered either a portable fan or the chance to change rooms. I accepted the room change. To my dismay, the alternate room had the same ventilation issues as the original room (dirty vents, poor air flow). Another room was then offered. This room had much better and cool ventilation. BUT the room was a couple’s room. I was sharing my room with a family member and was unwilling to share a bed with them. At this point I was tired and fed up with the whole situation. I visited the hotel desk yet again and asked to return to my originally assigned room since my belongings were still unpacked there. After spending an additional uncomfortable 2 nights at the hotel, I was happy to finally leave. I sincerely hope that Accor will address the ventilation issue in this hotel and offer a better solution than just a portable fan. With the Paris Olympics getting underway next summer, fixing the ventilation is even more urgent.

I recently stayed at the Pullman La Defense Paris for five nights September 7-12 2024 with my wife and four kids during our family vacation from Texas, and I must say, this hotel is definitely not worth the money. Unfortunately, our experience was riddled with issues that left us extremely disappointed. To start, we were assured that our rooms would be together. However, upon arrival, we found ourselves on separate floors. The receptionist eventually found us rooms on the same floor, but they were clear across the hall from each other, which was frustrating for a family traveling together. The condition of our room was unacceptable. It was filthy; the carpet was old and had a horrible smell, and the overall odor of the room resembled urine. To make matters worse, we experienced plumbing issues as the sinks were clogged, leading us to be relocated to another floor into much smaller rooms. The second room was no better. The carpet was stained just like the first, plumbing issues in the shower and we were shocked to discover mold in the shower. To add to our discomfort, the heater in the second room did not work, leaving our children freezing during our stay. And to top it all off, my wife encountered a cockroach in her room. Yes, a cockroach! I cannot emphasize enough: whatever you do, do not stay here unless you enjoy sleeping in a moldy, smelly, cockroach-infested hotel. I sincerely hope that hotel management will take this seriously.

Short: Given the choice I wouldn’t stay here again. Longer: located right by a huge shopping mall and the arena, it’s fairly convenient if you’re here for either of those things. The lobby area is clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are pretty minimalistic, also very very small.. but they get the job done. The bed is not comfortable and feels like it’s barely hanging in there. The shower placement was awkward in the shower, because you’re basically standing on a slope in the bathtub, which just feels a little risky. Worth noting is that the gym was atrocious, almost like a bad joke. There are no standard dumbbells, just one set with removable plates, but no clamps. There’s a barbell with no clamps and 2x5kg (~10 lbs) plates. There’s a multi-machine that looks like someone tried installing it but gave up halfway through, that’s broken. Plenty of cardio gear, but the weights were a joke. See photos. The breakfast was ok, nothing spectacular. So here’s how I averaged the stars in my review: Room: 2. WiFi: 3. Staff: 4. Amenities: 3. Location: 3. Gym: 0. Vibe: 3. Walkability: 3. Average: 2.65, rounding up to 3 stars.

I booked and stayed as a guest in your supposedly classified as “five-star property”- from September 30th till 6th October 2024 (inclusive dates). As expected in similar hotels, I expected the highest levels of hygiene and service, but the condition of my room and the manner in which your hotel handled a significant incident are unacceptable and require immediate redress. From the time I checked in- I had very trivial issues like the shampoo bottle not working, the toilet were not clean enough, the phone numbers mentioned on the papers in the room were very different to the actual number to be contacted. Everytime you call for services I was redirected to another number. I let them all go inspite of these causing lot of confusions. Incident and Consequences During my recent stay,on Saturday the 5th October 2024, I removed my flipflops while I was packing my stuff as I had booked for a Bus-tour around the city. I experienced a shar pain in my feet and saw that my feet was bleeding. I discovered a broken glass piece on the wound that has pierced from the floor of my room—an oversight caused purely by improper housekeeping. Regrettably, this shard pierced my foot, causing significant bleeding. As I am a diabetic, this injury put me at serious medical risk and caused me considerable pain, distress, and inconvenience. I called the reception, and literally had to shout at some point so that they would send the first aid team. I was asked to come down to speak to the duty manager, where they were offering me a drink or a meal , I clearly mentioned to them I am not looking for offers , instead I want a clear report and an apology. Rest I will decide after I speak to my attorney. This incident spoiled my entire day- trip, limiting my mobility throughout my visits to the places on the Bus tour. I was unable to walk properly during the planned Big Bus tour, had difficulty moving through the airport, and spent much of the trip sitting instead of exploring, as originally intended. Despite this serious incident, no one from your hotel management even offered an apology. Although I was informed that an investigation would be conducted and a report sent to me via email, I have received no further communication, follow-up, or report to date. It is alarming that a five-star establishment like yours can fail in such a fundamental aspect of guest safety and hospitality. This lapse demonstrates a clear violation of health, safety, and hygiene obligations, as required under French hospitality laws and the European Health and...

At check in, I was given a room with no “La Defence view” as stated on my reservation. Once I was in my room, I realized that, went back down and the receptionist at 1st said it is not possible then I insisted so she gave me the room with the view. I we not to my newly appointed room, I needed a shower to just discover that I have no hot water neither in the sink nor in the shower. Hot water was only available in the tub with a shower head fixed too low that I have to be holding it in my hands if I want to shower which is inconvenient to say the least. I took my shower anyway coz I had too and I was too tired to argue again with the reception. The next morning , as I was leaving my room I discovered that the safe is not working! On my way out I passed by the reception and I explained that I have 2 problems the missing hot water in the shower and the non functioning safe and they promised all will be fixed by the time I am back to my room. I was back in my room in the late afternoon, the safe was replaced but still there was no hot water in the shower! So I called the reception from my room and the sent an “Engineer” in their words, I think he was rather a technician.. anyway , he was in the room for around an hour, going in and out several times , and I told him I will leave the room and be back later he said ok. That evening when I went back to my room, again there was no hot water in the shower! Too tired to call or go down again to the reception I decided to complain again in the morning. So the next morning I went again to the reception and explained that the hot water issue was not fixed and that this was my second night without me being able to take a proper shower ! Again they promised they will fix it which unfortunately didn’t happen till the end of my stay and they didn’t even offer to switch my room ! I am really unhappy with my stay and very dissatisfied with the way the receptionists handled my complaint, they were not...
