I stayed at this property for about a week on vacation, I am very glad I selected this property, although it is not right in Paris, I prefer to stay in a larger hotel room rather than a closet size room, plus it's a few short minute walk to the train station and a modern shopping center. I used Uber a few times to get to central Paris and it was not pricey so you are not out in the country side, it's so very doable.I give this property five stars for the large room size, the location to restaurants/shopping/train, but mostly to the staff. The hotel ambassador Lyubov is such a great representation to this hotel, she is very polished/professional and very personable, and is your 'go to' person for All Things Paris! The hotel restaurant has an amazing staff that makes you feel at home---there are two Vincents who work there and a manager named Sasha who will make you feel very welcome, and will also share some insights on Paris. (the charcuterie board was daily for me)I had the breakfast buffet and the manager was very nice to all and introduced himself and would check on the patrons.Your Uber/taxi driver/car service will get very confused finding this place, this happened 3 or 4 times and I was convinced when I arrived my first day and we were circling around so many times that driver was taking me elsewhere, read the headlines "missing girl..." :) so please be sure to ask the hotel specifically the address they use for car services, it is frustrating but the hotel is not to blame and neither is your driver.I recommend that the entrance to hotel be re-done, perhaps some pavement, the rocks are challenging with rolling suitcases and good luck with heels, it could use a bit more of a modernized look.I had one small issue with the heat but it was quickly addressed. I will return here again in a few months, and largely due to the staff, everyone is polite and professional. You cannot go wrong...
Read moreGood option for a Paris trip. I have stayed here many times for business and was here recently for a personal trip.
The pros: very friendly and helpful hotel staff a very good club with breakfast and evening drinks if you have status with Marriott (unfortunately not the case currently due to Covid) comfy beds my rooms have always been clean make sure to remember to order omelette separately at breakfast from the staff they look well after their customers with Marriott status. Got upgraded to the junior suite multiple times. only one RER stop from the Arc de Triomphe (be sure to get the extra ticket. It’s considered outside of Paris for the RER and will cost you 30 Euros if they catch you with the wrong ticket 😢) anything on the Chaussée Élise reachable with Metro 1 (cheap ticket usable) next to Westfield shopping centre La Defense xmas market from end November to end December
The cons: Only had to remove a star because of location. There are quite some groups of people hanging around at night and sometimes they are quite. I could hear people screaming outside until 1 am on Saturday night. And I feel that if I would be a woman, I might not feel that safe. if you use a cab, it’s difficult to find. Be extra vigilant that the Uber / cab driver takes the right exit. It’s a very sharp exit and a little hidden. no mushrooms at breakfast. At that hotel category I’m kind of expecting mushrooms with the eggs. But maybe that’s just me. the price difference to Renaissance Arc de Triumphe and Republique is not only the location. Overall hotel quality and service is slightly better at the other locations. But you also pay double the price there. The public transport police is always trying to get you and charge you: 30 Euros if you go by RER to La Défense and you only had the Paris city ticket (which is fine on the Metro) limited opening times of the restaurant and (currently?) very limited...
Read moreWe got in late first night of a 2 two night stay, so that night was fine. When we got back from our daily activities the next day, we found that the staff ignored the do not disturb sign and went into our room anyways. They also took our extra room key while inside our room. We had kept the extra key in the insert they have in the wall. When I asked reception about this, they said we did not have the do not disturb sign on the door, my sister corrected them, as we know for a fact that we did, and always do. I then asked, why was my room key taken from me, and nothing but blank stares. They apologized briefly and that was it. On our departure, my sister fell down the main stairs in the hotel lobby and scrapped her knees badly, dropping hot cocoa all over the floor at the bottom of the stairs, right in front of multiple employees, one in particular employee that was just standing at the end of the stairs. He continued to just stand there, didn’t offer my sister help or see if she was alright. He didn’t even attempt to clean up the spill and advised us to leave it as other guests were coming down the stairs about to slip in the spill. Luckily I saw it and ran to my sister and she is okay but absolutely no concern from the hotel employees. No accident report, no sign advising other guests to be careful as its now very slippery and sticky. My sister cleaned the mess out of concern for other guests. I was shocked and disheartened by my experience. Maybe it was just an off day with a handful of inconsiderate employees but our experience suffered for it. Our experience definitely did not match up to the other reviews I have read. We will never come back and there are many great hotels in the area, I’d strongly recommend choosing any other hotel so you don’t end up with an...
